I thought I would be a sneezer when taking snuff but I’m not. Especially as I’ve always had a pretty sensitive nose, and I always get hay fever in the early summer. However I’ve only sneezed once when taking snuff and also, I have rarely found the need to blow my nose much either. Am I weird?
I’m not a psychiatrist but I play one on snuffhouse and, yes, you are weird, Actually, I rarely sneeze though I wish I did more often.
Yes you are as weird as the rest of us here at snuffhouse. What did you think; you had a special super power? 8-}
You take snuff, compared to the average tobacco user all of us are pretty strange imo. That being said I do with I had a nose like that…
In the few examples of snufftaking in popular culture, sneezing seems to be exaggerated. I sneeze reasonably often, but most of the time its not snuff related. Occasionally snuff will land in my tickle spot and trigger a sneeze. Less occasionally it will land in my tickle spot and not trigger a sneeze. This is frustrating, because then I need to yank out a nose hair while staring into a bright light to trigger the sneeze reflex.
Occasionally I sneeze, but some people have seemed surprised that I didn’t sneeze, when they saw me taking snuff.
i dont really sneeze, and my nose tends to only run when i dont want it to. having said that, i think i only sneeze when its inconvenient too, like in public.
I don’t usually sneeze. But when I do, you’ll be showering and crying all night.
I have sneezed once the entire time I have been taking snuff and its because I had a cold.
It depends on the snuff, but I rarely sneeze. It just sounds to me that you’ve got the hang of taking snuff rather quickly, so well done. You might also find that you won’t get hayfever so much, if at all, this summer - that’s what’s happened for me. It seems to have opened my nasal passages up. Good stuff, snuff.
Excellent, now that would be a massive benefit!
I don’t sneeze at all. But I do cough if I make a mistake and take ultra-fine snuff directly into my lungs.
Yes I coughed a bit the first few times I tried Best SP. What I do now is have the snuff on the tip of my finger and sniff it - kind of - sideways, if that makes sense… It enters the nose but doesn’t travel too far.
Don’t generally sneeze just post taking snuff. There are definitely times when I sneeze later on and frankly it is a good almost ‘cleansing’ feeling when I do.
I would love not to sneeze, you are lucky. There was one time in the winter when I sneezed almost all day and couldn’t snuff at all.
I do cough a bit with Best SP, but that’s when I accidentally sniff a bit too hard.
Sometimes I sneeze, sometimes I don’t. It seems like when I sneeze it’s mostly when I have been using one type of snuff for the whole day or even two days and then the first sniffs of the next type make me sneeze and then my nose adjusts. But blowing my nose is essential for me because I get clogged up and need to get rid of the old snuff in there.
I almost never sneeze from snuff. also my nose rarely gets runny and unless I have a metric shit ton of snuff in my nose, blowing it produces nothing but a few specks. But I also enjoy the “drip” that comes a few minutes after snuffing
The concept that a pinch of snuff is always followed by a sneeze is a myth.
My first pinch of the day is usually a menthol and it almost always makes me sneeze. The rest of the day I find that I’m sneezing less than I did before I found snuff. It took about a week or two for my nose to realize that snuff is it’s friend.
I usually don’t sneeze. But when I do, I sneeze the hell out.
Happens to me if I take too much, and I have found that the English straight tobacco snuffs can cause it, but like 10-20 minutes later. The indian snuffs I have tried don’t generally, unless I go crazy. It’s hard now to completely tell because I am getting into that season in the spring where the allergies/hay fever kicks in…
I suffer from hay fever, usually in the month of June (in the UK). I’m wondering what effect being a snuff-taker will have, if any.
I sneezed the first time I took snuff, but my nose got used to it very quickly , so one more no sneezer snuffer!
In my entire life of sniffing snuff, I sneezed once, that felt like a direct cause of it. But I was also working in the attic and its pretty dusty up there. But I eat cayenne pepper on literally pretty much everything. Theres many times ive accidentally took a pretty big snort of pepper in the air. I find it great amazing when that makes me sneeze.
Only when I first tried it and when I first tried D White & Bohica. Everyone is different, some people, I suppose, innately have the proper snuffing technique down right away
Sternecker snuffs make me sneeze repeatedly until I blow it out. I like it the first six or seven times. Most others, only very rarely.
It’s only Hedges L260 that makes me sneeze now I find.
