Been using snuff for about 2 months now and here’s the thing; I can not seem to take any flavoured snuff at all!  I’t’s like an allergic reaction and it’s intence.  I can only seem to take snuff like Viking Brown, Viking Dark, Samual Gawith Kendel London Brown etc.

Is there something common to all flavoured snuff (eg. some sort of binding agent) that I am allergic to?

In one way I doesn’t matter too much as I love the natural tobacco taste of the snuffs I can take but was just wondering about what other thought…

Probably just allergic to the oils used. That’s from what I know (which is far from perfect) the only thing diffrent with scented snuffs. One of the things most people don’t know about essential oils which are the main scent ingredients in most snuffs is that they almost always have a carrier oil, which is a netrualy oil (not having it’s own scent or having a weak scent), jojoba oil is a common carrier oil and it is possible to be allergic to that. It’s also possible that although you’re sensitive to the stronger scents it’s not an allergy and that you are just somewhat sensitive to the stronger smells. I would say just stick with the natural tobaccos for now and try the scented stuff later after your nose is more used to snuff.

That is a tough one, but I can not tolerate any menthol what so ever, same allergenic reaction. You will just have to learn to enjoy the natural tobacco snuffs.

Try taking an allergy tablet like Benadryl.

Thanks for the advice chaps  Just took a good dose of Viking Dark - great stuff!

Add Grunt to your rotation. That should be one that won’t give you a problem.
