Report from new jersey: not a whole lot of damage. Some folks have flooded basements, a lot of homes without power (including me). Could have been a lot worse, thank God…

from Boston - we lost a tree. Thats about it. Am happy we canceled our NYC vacation, that they suffered little damage, and kudos to all the businesses that refunded EVERY cent to us! (Hilton, Disney/Broadway, Ports/cruise). We WILL reschedule and invest in an amazing city.

I feel for anyone without power, living in Orlando I’ve been through it many times.

I lost literally everything during hurricane ike when i was in galveston, tx, so im thankful this one wasnt bad. Had to spend the evening with some abraxas and j. Fenimore cooper by candlelight. Life is hard lol…

I was sat by a candle reading some Kropotkin, waiting for my power to come back on until last night. Here in my part of NY, we had some decent damage. I couldn’t get anywhere for a while, as all the roads leading to main roads were flooded out, as were 7 of the major roads in the area. Part of my road collapsed, and one of the bridges (along with a huge chunk of land) simply got washed away. Meanwhile, I’m on top of a hill, so the worst I had was no power/running water, and 2" of water in the basement for 24 hours. Kind of wish it had been a bit crazier around here, we had a blast in the aftermath of Floyd. Floyd didn’t do much damage, just made most of our roads into swimming pools, and it was real fun to be able to kayak from one end of town to another.

Just glad to hear you’re alright. We’re still in a horrible drought down here in Texas with triple digit heat. It seems like everyone is getting some piece of the poo pie just about anywhere you look.

I have family in the Florida Keys and further up the coast in Sarasota. Very unusual for them to be spared and the Northeast to be hit! Hope everyone who suffered damage/outages gets back up and running quickly.
