Just wondering how many uk people that use dip or chew and where you buy yours from ?
It used to be not completely unheard of among miners but I’m pretty sure these days it’s completely unheard of lol. But I’m not a brit so I’m just going on hearsay. Samuel Gawith and Gawith Hoggarth still make twist tobaccos that can be chewed but the vast majority of people who buy them smoke them in pipes.
Yes I know about the pigtails and twists I was more on about loose leaf eg redman and dip eg copenhagen black I’m in the uk to just wondered how bigger thing it was over here because I only know 3 other people that chew or dip american products and just wondered if there were anymore of us out there ?
I’ve got some twist but not my thing.I use it very rarely,I’m a snuff man only thing I do these days.l would like to try a pipe but I’m sure it would lead me back to the cigs.18 months a non smoker now.
Me, I use probably every form of oral tobacco with the exception of makla as I really don’t like it. Snus (most of the time) dip, chew, twist, tobacco cuts, I use them all.
My guess is that even fewer people use tobacco orally in the UK than use snuff. In terms of American-style products, it is nearly impossible to buy loose leaf or dip in this country and as far as I know, no English companies make anything similar.

Does that include me? I have some pigtail and original thunder V2 on hand for emergency usage when I finally kick the cigs … soon
@50ft_trad they should help you kick the fags easily, just use them and don’t smoke, when you want a tab, throw in some twist or thunder, you soon get over the not smoking, worked easily for me and have never missed them since!
Chewing conventional twists & ropes is just awful …much better to shove in yer pipe. Just chewing some Blue Ocean Tobacco Cuts right now ($7.46(£4.57/16g)) - these are excellent! Much better than Oliver Twist (too expensive for what you get) and slightly better than Piccanell Strong. Grimm & Triepel Hanewacker No.5 are quite good too, although again poor value for just 5g. The V2 stuff is OK - kicks like mule! Although the bags (especially Frosted) seem to have too much sodium content.
I agree, try some pouches/snus portions if the loose tobacco or spitting causes you issues, but it took me hitting snus to stop lighting cigarettes and worked. didnt even get to the end of the pouch of drum, and the pouch my girlfriend left recently will probably go dry, i might have a cig a week so i dont waste it.
Thanks for the boost guys. I did anticipate not buying anymore rolling baccy when I ran out of current supplies (earlier today), but having cremated my Grandfather two weeks ago, my firm getting burgled one week ago and losing personal stuff as well as company stuff, and having been pulled by the coppers yesterday for an expired MOT which I’d genuinely lost track of (£100 fixed penatly, £40 for the failed test, and £100+ on Monday for the repairs to pass) it’s really NOT been a good month, so I figured I’d go for another 25g. Barring any more major calamities, when that runs out, I’m done!
