I know me being from America and all It’s not custom to drink hot tea, but I started drinking the herbals and all that and came to find some Twinnings loose leaf Earl Grey. OMG this stuff was amazing. I began drinking it every day, but soon forgot about it. About a month ago I ordered some McC SP, and remember saying “This reminds me of something”, as I continued to sniff I thought “Hey, It’s Earl Grey” So quickly off to the store I go for some Twinnings and Honey. Just wanted to see how many of ya’ll( sorry for the Texan) enjoy this tea and how often.
I love Earl Grey tea, its my favorite tea, and I only drink the Twinnings Earl Grey, thats the real stuff. I drink it almost everyday. So to quote Captain Piccard “Earl Grey, hot!”

I also like it a lot but not enough to drink it daily. The only EG I’ve got is Twinnings, so I don’t know whether it’s the best or not.
Personally I prefer a good Spiced Chai. Or green tea. Ken
It’s good. There are plenty of other just as good earl greys and some that are better. But you will not go wrong with that one. It’s pretty much just the basic Earl really nothing extra or super special about it though it is very good. Guess I’am saying there are too many varied and good earl greys to pick just one.
I like Earl Grey hot tea myself. I buy the Stash brand. My favorite is the Super Irish Breakfast by Stash. Almost as good as coffee, but not quite.
I used to drink Earl Grey almost exclusively. I probably had 4-5 mugs a day. I now prefer unflavored black teas and rotate through my favorites throughout the day. I still have an Earl Grey about once every week or two. My favorite is Harney & Sons Earl Grey Supreme. As you can see they have 6 EG varieties, not counting the decaf. Twinnings is pretty easy to find in the shops, but there are a lot of other ones out there. @ Mike B: I think it must be more than that. 42 at the least.
_I love Earl Grey tea, its my favorite tea, and I only drink the Twinnings Earl Grey, thats the real stuff. I drink it almost everyday. So to quote Captain Piccard “Earl Grey, hot!”_Yes it is the Real stuff, It is Actually Original Still made today, by one of Earl Grey’s Grandsons, The Sixth Earl Grey. So if you want Original that’s the way to go. Twinnings
I used to like Earl Grey but now stick to black tea.
I just drink several cups of Yorkshire red every day as strong as I can. Ain’t addiction grand.
Yeah I think caffeine is more addicting than Nicotene is LOL
I almost never drink hot tea at this time of year, but in the winter I frequently enjoy a nice cup of Earl Grey.
I have some Earl Grey tea bags.
earl grey is actualy one of the few teas that I find is just as good in a tea bag. Then again the bergmot flavoring is really the star of the earl grey show.
I agree I just purchased some of the bags for at the office. Actually taste the same. Think I’ll have a cup or many right now.
Not really much diffrence with the earl is there? Another thing I like about earl grey it’s so hard to fuck it up. Like if the water is too hot or you miss a few minutes and over brew it. Doesn’t make much of a noticable diffrence and it certainly doesn’t ruin it.
Wasn’t too big on tea until a few years ago when my husband returned from Iraq with a new tea habit. Apparently, Iraqis love their tea! Now we keep the kitchen stocked with all sorts of tea with Earl Grey being one of my favorites! Turkish tea is another favorite that he introduced me to. I’m with Pipen (are you Pipen from snuson? I’m desirexe over there), tea is a winter drink for me.
Yes, I’m PipenSnus from SnusOn. Call it avoiding confusion, or just lack of imagination.
I drink unadulterated tea from China. Mostly Sheng puerh and Wuyi oolongs
Actually I don’t have any Earl Grey tea bags. I was just trying to get a rise out of Xander :o)
Lady Grey is alright I do drink it once and a while, its a lighter tea with more citrus flavour then Earl Grey
Both of my sibling are mix drinkers (coffee & tea), while me myself am mostly just a teabug. I bought a Twinings Classic tea pack one day: Earl Grey, Lady Grey, English Breakfast Tea, English Afternoon Tea, Prince of Wales. The packet was empty the next day. Having some Earl Grey right now. Not the best tea out there, but a nice staple in my cabinet.
Am I the only Yorkshire Red drinker on the forum. Come on Yorkshire and Cumbria !
@ BradMajors: I know. You were trolling. I’m not biting.
Teabags are evil. I don’t know how they ended up being standard in cafes, whenever I’m out and tempted to go for a cup of tea I often think “why bother, I could just go home and have a nice cup instead”. The best Earl Grey I have had is a Taylors one, I get mine from Bettys, I can’t remember if it is a Bettys blend or a normal Taylors one. When they open the jar you are hit in the face with this really strong, amazing spicy fragrance. For anyone up North, Booths do a good Earl Grey for a very good price. The other Booths tea is good as well and is my usual, although just for Nachman, I do drink Yorkshire Tea when i can’t be arsed to go to Booths!
I like the Twining’s Earl Grey. But I like their tea’s in general the Irish Breakfast Tea is quite nice. Though I’ve been experimenting with other teas. I really like Darjeeling.
Darjeeling is actualy my least favorite tea. I think it does tend to be quality but for some reason I prefer tea from china and japan the most. I think darjeeling reminds me too much liptons. When I drink darjeeling I always feel like I’am drinking liptons from some alternate universe where it’s a high quality tea. That is too say good tea but I can think of so many more I like a lot better.
I’d like to try a lot more teas. That Yorkshire red sounds good. I’m still experimenting. lol
I like about all teas, but not being an afficianado, just basic Lipton tea bag with some sweetner is good to me.
Having some Twinings Irish Breakfast myself. The local store began stocking English breakfast and Earl Grey in loose leaf varieties, and I intend to try some quite soon. Love the Earl Grey, hell all tea for that matter.
I like pretty much all teas, but I haven’t been drinking them much this summer, unless it’s iced. I know some folks over the pond consider that an abomination. lol I made some sun tea on Sunday, with some good ol’ Lipton, it was just what the doctor ordered. Green tea is my staple, but I love em all, black, orange, green. Earl Grey is a treat. It goes with SP snuffs well, ya think? I rarely add sugar and cream, but it’s nice once in a while, but I never add them to EG. Typically, we avoid tea bags, but they slip in the basket somehow on occasion. I much prefer loose tea. I found this brand, Hyson, they give you a lot more for your money, than say, Twinnings. I have not gone the gourmet route yet, but the custom green tea market is fascinating. I like looking at the pictures of tea “buds”. Reminds me of the old days, reading High Times. lol
I usually take my tea with milk, but highly sweetened earl grey (and snuff!) helped me quit smoking. Yum!
earl grey is one of the few teas I always add sweetner too.
Honey and milk is what I like it with
Earl Grey is an awesome tea if you want a black tea. I don’t drink much tea, more of a coffee guy, but when I see earl grey my eyes light up Just honey or honey and cream for me.
Like the majority of people here, iam a coffee drinker , but i enjoy a cup of Black Tea or Yerba Mate now and then. never had Earl Grey or English Breakefest, just straigth black tea and hot Yerna Mate with sugar
I thought Brazillians were breastfed on coffee.
I like a lot of teas, but my favorites are Yerbe Mate and Mulungu
@Xander Not too far from the truth
I have a whole kitchen cabinet dedicated to tea. Earl Grey is the only tea I freak out about if it runs low, or (shudder) should I run out.
Yorkshire red is the perfect tea, all I drink. Milk and 1 sugar.
Been digging on some oolong myself. Great stuff.
I just adore Earl Grey tea with a tad of honey and goes great with a pinch of Sun Sher. Yep time for a cup and a pinch
