how i start my day

After talking about the vineyard/winery I work at, I thought I would put a couple pic’s this is usually how i start my day. Sitting ontop of the observation deck, watching the sun rise with a good pinch of Toque Chocolate and a huge hazelnut esspresso. The only peace i get in the day. And to think harvest is going to start in 1.5 months…

no sleep…“'till brooklin”…or December. What ever comes first. It’s just the sparkling harvest at first. That lasts about 3 weeks, then 1-5 days reast, then the whites, then the reds, then the ice wine… nothign like harvesting grapes in -28*C,

Love the Beastie Boys’ quote.

Yes. They were only planted last year. The plantings get older as you look to the left. 2005, 2003, 2002. Roses are the plan for next spring. Right under the observation deck is the patio where the band plays and people can relax. It’s a nice view. It will be better when i can get them into Vertical shoot position for next season.

That looks great.

This is the other side of the estate. These were planted in '02. I got 8 tons to the acre last year.

Well mostly i let them do their thing up to verasion, then I’ll cluster thin to 2-3 kg per plant. Also, leaf stripping and hedging keep them in place.

I think a wine snuff would be awesome. Not grape snuff mind you, but a snuff that smelled like a dry red wine.

Hey Roderick, There’s a project for you. Snuff flavoured like pinot noir, or merlot, or cab sauv.

Well Roderick, I know we’ve discussed a wine scented snuff before on here so there is some demand. Don’t know how big of a demand though. My favorites would be something like a spicy Zin or Syrah. Even a sweet port or black muscat. But I know it would be easier to have a flavor like Toque Red, Toque White or Toque Dessert.

I just add a drop of wines I like to plain snuffs. It works wonders. Just get a pour spout like the ones they use in bars cover the air hole and let a drop or two go into the snuff.

I’ll give it a shot this weekend. I think I’ve got some plain snuff lying about. Cabernet Sauvignon snuff.
