How do you store your snuff?

How does everyone store their snuff to ensure it stays nice and fresh at all times? I use small kilner jars which i can get for £1 ($1.60) they seem to store 50 grams perfectly just like they where designed for the job. I also think they look really good on the shelf. 2 Levels deep now, going to have to move some stuff off the shelf soon to fit more on lol. Sorry if they is already a post about this i searched by couldn’t find one.

Yep that’s what I use, great those airtight jars.all stored on top of my wardrobe.

Mainly blue tinted glass jars from Neals Yard which are then stored in a drawer. Abraxas and SWS that arrived in glass jars have remained in their glass jars. SWS FoJ and AA arrived in sturdy airtight tins so they have remained in those and seem to be fine. Decanting snuff into glass jars once opened was one of the first things I learnt from this forum and has doubtless saved me from suffering from a lot of dried out snuff.

i kept some snuff in a smaller one of those clip tops still made by kilner, but it didnt stay dry… im starting to wonder if my source isnt as reliable as i thought, maybe they are selling ones that dont make the grade or something. all i managed to find truly airtight was the type with the separate disc lid with a metal screw on ring to tighten it down, and my bulk firedrac has been stored in that for months. looks like its kept it perfectly, though its not the type of jar to be opened often.

@Firestarter0 mine are the kilner ones and everything still seems to be fine in them after a few months, but i will pass judgement on the jars in a few months time.

mason (ball) jars.

I had used those rubber clip lids in the past. they work best if you moisten the rubber before sealing. I bought wide mouth packers in cobalt blue the 2 oz size holds 25 grams with ease ,These are the 4 oz jars they easily hold 50 grams. Best to use the smallest jars, If failure, a large jar, more is lost. I bought a few hundred and I am in need of more.

Those bottles look perfect, and I love the labeling, too. I’ll have to see if I can find something similar from my country. I should pay more attention to storing my snuff. This far I’ve re-used small capers glass jars. When cleaned properly there’s no smell tranfer from what I can tell.

Wilsons of Sharrow advices: “Treat the snuff as if it were a vegetable is the general rule. Keep it airtight until opened and then store in the refrigerator, in the dark. The vegetable box at the bottom is ideal, if you are allowed!”

Mason jars, Ball jars, old pipe tins (especially the sealable DAN ones) etc… just whatever, so long as it locks tight/air sealed

Glad this discussion is going as I have been wondering how (if) I will store acquisitions in bulk. I have made a small-ish online order and seem to have a reliable supply from a local shop, but as I have quickly learned from reading through the various posts (and life) is that if you like something-buy it in bulk lest it be on back order when you need/want it the most. I was thinking of the jars once I open a tin/bulk bag since I have learned it is likely to dry out if not tended to with care. Living here in Japan does pose challenges with humidity or will in a few months so I want to be sure I am taking the right approach if I move into maintaining a home supply of my yet to be found favorite.
