I have to give a persuasive speech about something later this month and thought, “hey what the hell! I’ll do it on snuff!”. Unfortunatly the guidlines require me to do t he speech on some civil problem that affects many people so I think I will do ‘How to quit smoking with snuff’. Does anyone have any particular insights on the layout of my speech or any other helpful info? Of particular intrest are websites that have cited the low number of snuff cancer rates and shit like that. The speech class has about 30 people in it, a few have heard of snuff already (older people 45+). My speech teacher who hates her job actually perked up when I told her I was giving a speech on sniffing tobacco up my nose! Another predicament is that I can’t demonstrate it myself, so I have to find another person to demonstrate it while I give my speech. What is a good easy snuff for a total newb? I was thinking maybe Dholakia Black or something moister like that. Im afraid the only other ones I have that are moist are grand cairo and some bernards, all the rest are scotches and toasts. It sounds like you still have time to teach someone. Find a willing classmate and start practicing now. He/she will love it so much by speech time that you will have to restrain them from snuffing too soon.
Give them whatever has the least burn factor. That is what bothers most snuff virgins.
Hmm, I need a three pount speech and I’m having trouble making threee clear important points relating snuff to cigarettes, while still keeping the spotlihgt on snuff. So far I have Point A- History Point B- Benifits compared to smoking Point C- Having trouble thinking of a third one! I will update this to a final draft as I carry along.
Variety/collectibilty When I was a smoker. It was one brand and always the same brand. Now I have (or have had) nearly 300 snuffs in my collection and seek to aquire even more.
That is possible, however I don’t know what my audience will think when I talk about how many snuffs I have! They might come to the conclusion that a person owning 75+ snuffs is worse than a smoker!
If you can explain the different grinds, moisture levels, regional characteristics, and of course flavorings they might see why some would not get bored with it, and further get excited about it. Use the “Do you eat the exact same food everyday?” argument. Well, anyway, that’s my 2 cents. Its up to you to convince them, that’s what makes a good speech. Ermtony’s site might help you with some classification terminology. Wine people go to great lengths to get many different varieties. They collect and trade too! Compare to that.

MR. Maroon, If you have to relate snuff to a civil issue, check out the two threads on the PACT act (aka 1147). There is lots of information on how passing this legislation would effect snuffers.
How long does this speech have to be? I guess you could talk about points A & B alone an hour each! To bring along a beautyful PC snuff box, wouldn´t be too bad. That should give bonus points. ;))
If you take a snuff that’s easy to demonstate, also pick one that will be liked by most, I’d recommend Dholakia Swiss Chocolate, and maybe a fruity menthol.
I have 5 to 7 minutes to give the speech. I’m thinking of bringing about 5-10 different snuffs to pass around the class.

As an added note, Snuffing encourages slightly better Hygiene for some users; Nasal Irrigation, or the Neti Pot for example!! Ah bummer I think my post is a bit late, Good Luck !!
Pass around a tub of rooster, report back. Seriously now, great idea! I think a wide collection of snuffs, from a schmalzler to a heavily perfumed f&t, to a HDT, ah hell, just bring your entire collection. Check the legalities of consuming tobacco on a school campus, though, I know where I went to school, a public university, it was not legal in classrooms.
