Honest vs. Garrett?

When I was ordering snus a few weeks ago I noticed Lil’ Brown Smoke Shack had dry snuff. I ordered a 1oz Garrett and this huge tumbler of Honest. I tried the Garrett. I’m still new at snuff and it got me so congested. My question is this: Should I try the Honest or just bank on it until my technique gets better. A tumbler is like 5oz and it’s just huge. I love the scent of scotches though and if it’s a little easier to snuff the Honest, I feel like it would be worth it. American scotches are the best to go along with coffee.

Go ahead and break open the Honest now.

Snuff 'em if you got 'em!

Honest is so much like Garrett, it won’t really make a difference.

Yeah, it’s not like it’s gonna dry out! I think I like the Honest better. It may be all in my head though, because I like their slogans. lol

To be Honest, Garrett is much better (MUST be Levi Garrett)

I thought Levi Garrett was just Garrett in a plastic container?

Brutons doesnt clog me up at all. You might want to give it a try.

Honest is easier on the nose and smokier than Garrett scotch. It doesn’t have enough burn for me but that is a plus to many.

If scotches are giving you a hard time revisit after a few months of snuffing they usually seem much better with practice. Although they always require a little extra teqnique

@Johndeere89: Truth! I snuff scotches from a bullet almost constantly now. This was not always easy/possible I find there are really only 3 types of US scotches: Conwood, US Smokeless, and Swisher. My preference is that order.

@NelsonPipeClub Scotch from a bullet!!! You must be a pro. I had a Sparrow Cool bullet and I just couldn’t do it like that. Had to dump it out and pinch.

Garrett out of the large bottle is usually a little fresher and a little better tasting than the small cardboard containers. Can’t say about the Levi Garrett in the plastic bottle as I’ve still got 2 1/2 glass bottles to go. I’d assess the Honest (my present every day all day snuff) as a tad easier on the nose and not quite as sharp a taste as either of the Garretts. FWIW, my all day snuff used to be Fred Stokers plain which to my taste was the best of the 3, just filled my desk box with the last of it … purchased in May of 2004. (Selling it in only 2 pound tubs encouraged hoarding.) Good advice to set one you dislike right now aside and try later, your taste WILL change, I used to detest SP snuffs … now I love 'em! Regards

@GOHAWKS Like almost everything else with my snuffing career, it took some time to get used to. Even the bullets themselves were tough at first, never mind filled with a scotch. I still find snuffing from a spoon nearly impossible, though. Go figure.

See, now thats funny because I can do a spoon. But I still prefer to pinch.
