Hey folks, So I use a lot of the American scotches. They are by far my absolute favorite genre of snuff, and I have a massive supply of them. But sometimes their dryness can be a little abrasive on the nose, and as we have all experienced, it often goes too far into the sinuses or lungs. I was rather bored this evening, so I found some food-grade mineral oil that is sold to be consumed (as a laxative) so I know it’s not toxic. Using a small can of Square scotch, I poured a rather liberal amount of mineral oil into the snuff then capped the can, and shook vigorously for thirty seconds. I then examined the snuff, poured in more mineral oil, then shook again. The results are awesome. It makes the snuff dark and stickier, but it can still be easily pinched and sniffed. Although the moisture allows for massive pinches that are perfectly delivered, with absolutely no overshoot. It’s spectacular. I’ve also placed two whole pods of cardamom into the can, in the hopes of imparting the smell of my beloved Arabian spice. Definitely try this if you’ve got a snuff you like but have trouble using due to fine grind or dryness. I think Dholakia White would be a great candidate. Experiment with small amounts of the snuff until you find an amount of mineral oil that works, since this is mostly up to personal preference. Cheers!
wonder if vitamin e oil i have would do… might try it
I have found the more delicious oils do go rancid more quickly but making smaller batches is no problem.
im not sure if i should try the vit E oil, since in small doses its fine but in larger doses it raises the risk of a serious stroke. hmm… its all i have though, i use it on my ears, ill give it a go in a small batch. tried it with a mix of white elephant (80) and my dregs mix (20)… it seems to have reduced the scents (i tried it dry first), but its a plus for ease of use. the only way i could get it to blend properly though was to shake, break it up, add more snuff, then shake and break it up again, it just clumped into a ball first time. might see if i can add just a tiny amount to a white elephant to tame it a bit without getting rid of the burn and scent.
