I love Grand Cairo, and I also like Toque SP Extra quite a bit. I have a tin of Toque Lavender, and while I appreciate it, I think I like it better when there is some bergamot in the neighborhood.

I thought of mixing some Lavender with some SP Extra for some DIY Toque Grand Cairo. The Lavender is pretty strong, do you think I should mix 1 part of Lavender to 3 parts of SP Extra? Anyone done this before I start mixing the two?

Most of us blend our favourites to some extent and it has to be trial and error on your part because we don’t know what you like. What I would say is just make up a few sample pinches at various ratios because there is no way we can advise which is best for you. Mix and have fun, if you use small amounts you can always add a bit more of something and decide the way you want the bulk of the blend to go. I would mix in half teaspoon amounts (1 part = 1/2tsp) until you find what you like.

Put a little Toque Rose in there too, will you?

^^ you think there is rose in GC? I get bergamot and lavender, but not sure what else.

^Perfect example of how different each of our noses are.  heh

Grand Cairo is more than just bergamot and floral.  Grand Cairo is bergamot, citrus, lavender, and some spice.

1 part Toque Lavender and 4 parts SP Extra isn’t too shabby, makes me enjoy the lavender much more

J

You don’t even have Toque Rose do you?

BTW Guys, I’m not suggesting that there is rose in Grand Cairo and in fact trying to recreate Grand Cairo would be quite daunting.

C

I’m not really interested in recreating GC so much as toning down this Toque Lavender  :)

M

I like the Toque Lavender, Peppermint and Menthol in roughly equal proportions. just a thought

J

You’re going to want to tone down the Toque Rose too.
