I think the old style of writing was so much nicer than modern text abbreviations.

More snuff adverts and stories available if people are interested.

The old style is much better. That is why I am a Charles Dickens enthusiast. He and his contemporaries made such rich use of language.

JosephJames    as a Dickens fan you may have noticed that my picture is of Mr & Mrs Sowerberry, the undertakers to whom Oliver Twist was apprenticed. Note the coffins in the background and the coffin shaped snuff box in his hand.

As for Aamon, I think the   “spill chicker” on you computer is faulty.

I shudder for the day that written communication is reduced to an unpunctuated wall of ‘text-speech’. I can’t understand a damn thing my son texts me, and having seen the laxness in punctuation and grammar in his school work I can’t understand how he maintains high marks in english. While I am certainly no Dickens, I was given a depth of knowledge about written english and a healthy respect for our language. I just don’t see that in ‘kids these days’. Mayhap I’m just a curmudgeon who’s soul is older than his body.

What a nice little bit of snuff-o-terica!

@SandwhichIsles You have chosen the perfect picture for that post. @ArtChoo I missed the photo. My apologies. Once I clicked on it, it was large enough to make out. As an aside, I have a tradition of reading David Copperfield every Fall.

@josephjames Writing the post made me think of ol’ Archie… come to think of it, living my life makes me think of ol’ Archie, minus the bigotry.
