SNUFF RETURNS TO FAVOUR. Snuff is returning to popularity.
A London tobacconist states that large numbers of the public have now given up smoking in favour of snuff.
“We sell considerable quantities,” he stated.
“Doctors prescribed snuff during the influenza epidemic in 1929, and many people, who acquired the taste then, have maintained the habit ever since.”
At a rough estimate, the demand for snuff in London has increased by 100per cent. during the last year.

The real tobacco snuff is an undoubted germ killer, and experience has shown that confirmed snuff takers are singularly immune from influenza and “head colds.”
A striking instance of this is afforded in the case of a Leeds man, who passed through the two distinct waves of “Spanish Influenza” which swept the troops in France during the war, and who never had an ordinary cold, despite the severities of three winters, until when, after the Armistices, and when the conditions of life were moderately normal, his regular supply of snuff failed for a fortnight, and he went down within the first three days. His recovery dated from the restoration of the supply.
Of all varieties of snuff - Black Rappee, Kendal Brown, Scotch, “S.P.,” and Top Mill - The Yorkshire make is held to be the most efficacious.

There are several more Influenza/Snuff articles and a few adverts for influenza snuff that contain tobacco, I shall post a few more articles on the subject soon.
