Henriques e Casarin Ltda

anybody know about this? searched but not much came up. is this discontinued, available?

Its from Brazil. No US or UK online vendors stock it, so it won’t get much discussion here. One German vendor has some Brazillian snuffs, not sure if H&C was one. I got a tin of Moeda Cristal in a trade not long back. It sends me into sneezing fits unlike any other snuff!

Xander, your snuff knowledge never ceases to amaze me. :b

^5, bru! To further amaze you here is a list I have compiled of Brazilian snuffs. I’ve only had the one mentioned above. Their labels are VERY simiar to Fumo Paulistão Ltda.'s so don’t get confused. All of this info and pics are available online. There is one onine shop in Argentina selling some of these, but they’re kind of pricey. Links are all in old threads, but can’t remember where now. There are probably a lot more, but this is what I know about.CaratingaRapé Imburana Rapé MentoladoFumo Paulistão Ltda.Rapé Guarany Especial (Canela) Rapé Guarany Eucalipto Rapé Guarany Cravo Rapé Guarany Cristal Rapé Guarany Mentolado Rapé Guarany Girassol Rapé PaulistãoHenriques e Casarin Ltda.Rapé Imburana Rapé Moeda Cravo Rapé Moeda Cristal Rapé Moeda Especial Rapé Moeda Mentolado Rapé Moeda Natural Rapé RealRapé AraçaCravo e Canela

It’s amazing…just when I think I have about exhausted the known manufacturers of snuff you guys dig up more. I have to start limiting myself to one new one per month to stock. I have two more new ones on the way btw…one, at least has been discussed before, the other, I am not sure. Its a surprise  @xander: your breadth of knowledge never ceases to amaze me.

Ach, I don’t know anything I didn’t read on here first.

I dont think it’s so much a wealth of knowledge, rather than a superhuman ability to recall. I cant even remember all the types of snuff that I have collected. I have to dig them out and look. "Oh yea, I forgot about this one…huge pinch later…now I remember why it was at the back of the cabinet…wait, what’s this one?..hmmm nice…move this one up in the line. but yea, maybe there should be an “Ask xander” thread. all the newbie should be pointed there. Noticed the ^5 Bru thing again. does Thatjerk = Mateo?

Its not so much memory of information, but the ability to recall how to look it up someplace. Now, it was said that Einstein, who IMO was truly superhuman, could not recall his own phone number. When asked, he said that as long as he could look it up in the phone book, he didn’t need to waste memory on remembering it. That may only be an urban legend, but the story makes for a good lesson. lol, “ask xander thread”…an updated FAQ would be better, I think.

ap is a Brazilian member on here. And it’s thanks to Antônio that ermtony and myself have tasted seven of this excellent snuff.

I might have to get ahold of AP. the Rape’ Imburana is intriguing. found out about it on Tony’s site. I would like to find a better description of Imburana as a flavoring.

I know of nothing else with even a similar flavour, so it’s rather hard to describe I’m afraid.

yea, i gathered that from your site. seems most use of it is for the hardwood. but being a legume, they obviously use it as a spice/flavoring. Gonna have to get some of this.

Xander, Regardless if you actually remember all this info or look it up somewhere, it is all about the presentation. Your like a magician, it is magic if we percieve it to be magic. Even if we know magic is not real we can still enjoy the show because of the magicians delivery and presentation.

Thank you, I’m going to take that as a complement.

I hope so… it was meant to be a complement. I have not gotten much sleep, only 4 hours in the last 48 hours, so my ramblings may only make sense to me at the moment.

and for his next trick…

Old thread I know…but if anyone reads this. Does anyone know if the Brazilian snuffs are available anywhere… outside of Brazil?

I’ve not had any luck with finding a source from Brazil, but I do know a source of South American snuffs available from Peru, that does international shipping. I’ve tried a good few of them, and they are both unique and excellent. The base of most of them is Mapacho, which is an aged and fermented native strain of N. rustica, combined with other interesting traditional plants:

Seem like some of them might be a similar recipe to those from Henriques e Casarin Ltda.

I looked around after reading this thread, and found no source available in the US. Has anyone ever found such source? It sounds like very nice snuff.
