Do Poschl tap boxes not dry out because the construction of the box or because the snuff itself, or is it both :o

@Vito445: Poschl doesn’t dry out in the tap boxes because the snuff has been moistened with shelf stable oils instead of water; the oils don’t evaporate away.
Ok, well then be prepared to throw out at least 5 of those you ordered. The toast will probably be snuffable as it starts out on the dry side.
Although there is hope (for the snuff). As a method of sampling snuffs, the sneeze boxes theoretically could be used, albeit with some effort. Some experience with snuff hydration would be helpful. Boxes could be kept in humidors. Some understanding of scent transfer necessary for that. The rehydration and reconditioning for dried out blacks. Knowledge of original humidity and texture helpful there. etc. etc. Point being… all is not lost. All I know is that if I were told to jump off a bridge, I would certainly consider the factors of that action before a_ttempting ( I subbed a tree comment for a less sensitive bridge comment in a previous post). _
I have a cigar box with a humidor that i can keep all the snuff in. Also, when my friends see me with the new snuff im getting they are all gonna wanna try each one, and im probably gonna use one flavor all day and then use another one all day the next day to try them out. Regardless, what is most important to me is that it wont be spoiled by the time it comes in the mail, i want to be able to at least try it fresh, i wont be mad if it goes bad if i have gotten a chance to try it a few times at least
Oh and can somone tell me what kind of snuff Lowen-Prise is? And what they think of it, if they have tried it?
Lowen-Prise is a Schmalzersque menthol with a sweet licorice (not anise) scent. I think it’s superb.
Fresh snuff is amazing! Although I am of the opinion that snuff does not “spoil” it may be due to my confidence in rehydrating. There is nothing better than fresh snuff. If you do take a liking to those English snuffs you are getting. You owe it to yourself to try them fresh. You may then realize why the “sneeze boxes” are so despised.
chances are they are already stale. Snuff in a tap box is only good for a couple of days after it leaves the factory.
Tap Box –> :-)
Ugh. I never knew how good snuff was until I got rid of those damned SG “sneeze boxes”
My snuff came in! imso excited, as soon as i opened it i took a pinch of packards club! Ahhhh im so excited about this, i cant wait to sample every kind i got
I love getting in a fresh order of snuff I haven’t tried yet. Sets the world right for a spell.
