Im pleased i got to join the community. Im a student from Finland, and very new to snuff. I’ve tried snuff once before, and today i made a order from toquesnuff. I ordered Absinthe Vanilla Toffee SP Extra Spanish gem Quit Menthol Natural toast Cherry and Whisky & Honey What are your taughts about these flavors?
I’ve had the Toffee, Spanish Gem, and Whisky & Honey from that lot, and all are good. The Toffee and Spanish Gem are medium-fine, and sweet. The Toffee scent is reminiscent of Cinder Toffee, and the Spanish Gem is sweet and complex. Both very good snuffs. The Whisky & Honey is a fine toast style snuff, and very tasty. Sweet and slightly smokey.
Thank you for the answer. What brands do you people prefer over Toque?
Toque snuffs get a lot of love here. I suppose preference depends on what you’re looking for. I’d personally turn to Samuel Gawith for dark moist snuffs (London Brown, etc), Gawith Hoggarth for florals (English Rose, Wallflower, etc), and Wilsons of Sharrow for SP styles (Tom Buck, Grand Cairo). But most manufacturers produce a wide range of styles, so the best thing to do is buy a wide range of products and see what works for you. I’m now snuffing McChrystals O&G 90% of the time, it’s a lovely medicated (menthol) snuff that I can’t recommend highly enough.
Sounds good… How finely grind are the Toque Snuffs i ordered? I ask these first few questions here because i dont’t want to spam threads…
The grinds will vary by the flavor. The Natural toast should be the finest/dryest one of the batch, and the fun ones like the vanilla and others should be the most coarse/moist. That’s how my batch was anyway.
Dang… I hope all of them are quite finely grinded… Don’t like the taught of getting big lumps of snuff in my nose
@Nuusku All the toques are finely ground, some more so than others. Hearing you are from FInland, have you tried Neftobak?
@Khalid Thank you for the information. Actually no, i have not. Ive only smoked for 3 years, used snus for one year, and now ive ordered the Toque pack!
The Whiskey & Honey is also a toast and very fine. All Toque snuffs are fine ground or very fine, except for Berwick Brown which is moderatley coarse. @khalid That’s Iceland you’re thinking of.
@xander thanks, I think I just had a senior moment.
Thank you very much for the information, appreciate it very much. Looking forward to get the snuff!
Since Toque and Silver Dollar are my only real experience with snuff, i guess my idea of coarse and fine would be a bit different. I grab a pinch of Coke and can actually feel the texture of the snuff; compared to other ones that I have, that stuff is coarse. If that is still fine, some of the snuffs out there must be like putting gravel in your nose. O_o
