I love heavily scented snuff like F&T Patchouli and Dholakia Ganga. As I have only been snuffing for about 6 months I want to try a few more heavy scented ones. Any recommendations gratefully received.

K

Samuel Gawith : Otterhound  Strong perfume .

M

SG Lavender Dark, F&T French Carotte

T

F&T Macouba and Seville.

T

F&T bureau is a mix of 6 different snuffs of theirs

M

Anything by F&T, excepting their High Dry Toast.

J

I’d second the anything by F&T, and add WoS Jockey Club and Rose of Sharrow.

T

Let’s not forget WoS Royal George if you haven’t already tried it. Although its more dessert than floral.

T

WoS Strasbourg

H

I would suggest that you try the entire gambit of snuffs made in India – especially Dholakia and 6 Photo.

I haven’t been able to obtain any 5 Photo, but I imagine that they also make classical scented Indian snuffs.

L

Ok thanks a bunch for all your suggestions I have got F&T Princes Special but wasn’t particularly struck by it, preferring their Patchouli. However thanks to you guys I now have a long list of recommended ones to try. Think that will keep me busy for a while.

P

I’ll second the Indians, especially if you like florals. They are perfumed bombs, sometimes w/very delicate menthol, it works really well.

A plus, if you fall in love, Indian snuffs are a bit more affortable.

H

I will also second the suggestion of Fribourg & Treyer snuffs.

Try Bordeaux and Morocco.

B

Elmo’s Reserve…not floral but the scent will stay with you.

S

Berwick Brown is fairly long lasting also

L

So… I am trying… Rose of Sharrow - yes, definitely a favourite of mine WoS Jockey Club - Wow, came through the post today, and I cannot get enough of it Dholakia - Khamal - nice Dholakia - Ganga - LOVE it Gawith Hoggarth - English Rose - just arrived today, seems very nice Mmmm all is good today :-). Keep the suggestions coming…I am all ears.

M

It may be more in the medium too heavy range, but Sam Gawith’s Kendal Brown Original is imo wonderful and  nearly a must for a “well travelled snuff-person”. It seems to be considered one of the classic snuffs.

Also many people like me really like the Fribourg & Treyer Santo Domingo, especially if one finds some of thier other offerings to be too heady. I’d say the scenting is rather deep and earthy-rich but elegant.

L

Must try some more of the Fribourg & Treyer range, I love the Patchouli. I recently ordered Princes Special but can’t seem to get on with it. Very earthy and delicate fragrance to me, and very crumbly. But then I am only a beginner, started snuffing about 6-7 months ago. I got Wilsons Sandalwood thinking it would be as strong, thinking it may smell like the essential oil Sandalwood, but I can hardly detect anything. As I say it may well be my newbie nose. Today I am on Dholakia Ganga & Kamal, and have also got Wilsons Jockey Club in my handbag. I am writing a list down of all these suggestions. Thanks guys.

T

It’s not exactly heavy scented but does have a wonderful fruity floral scent. McChrystals Stammheimer Hopfen Schnupf. Ganga and Kamal are both my favorite at the moment.

X

I’m quite fond of Wilsons’ florals (Wallflower, Carnation, Strasbourg) but I despise Samuel Gawith’s florals (some have the same names). Gawith Hoggarth has a few that are nice and unique (Western Glory, Lakeland, Mitchells, their Wallflower and Carnation are not bad, but not as good as WoS). Toque has a few that are very pungent (Violet). And of course the kings are F&T: Bordeaux, Morocco, Macouba, Morlaix, Seville, French Carotte.

D

Toque Berwick Brown. Once it starts to fade, just rub the nose a bit and it comes back to life.

G

If you would take one Princes choose WoS one,it’s a marvelous snuff, for me it’ here far the best Princes, even his texture is an luxurious pleasure.

F

So far I found Wilson’s Tom Buck to be a heavily scented sp.

-edit- I only have had a few different SP’s so ymmv.

L

So I have ordered - Fribourg & Treyer French Carotte 6 photo Anarkali 6 photo Khailash. I am paying attention, so keep the suggestions coming

H

If you want to try something different, take a look at some of the “tobacco free” snuffs that Mr. Snuff has in stock.

I would suggest starting with the Thai snuffs. Some of the others are a white powder so I wouldn’t suggest using them  when you are out in public.

W

I´ll say that Sam Gawith - Raspberry is the heaviest scented snuff that I´ve found in my short snuffing career. Otherwise, Toque - Rose is heavy scented, and the only I´ve found that smells like recently cut roses not just rose petals, very refreshing! Hope this helps!

M

Another of the 6 Photo’s worth checking out is the Super Kalaish, different than the 3 or 4 others that I’ve had, a bit less perfumey with a pleasant mintiness (more peppermint than spearmint) .

Also Wilson’s French Carrotte is headier than the Fribourg and Treyer’s, the Wilson’s is too much for me personally, but if you want stronger scents…

W

Roses of Attar from Snuffstore UK, their own blend, very floral F&T Dr J R Justice F&T Bordeaux  Samuel Gawith Blue Crest. If its floral they will hit the spot if its heavy scented Snuffs try Vanilla Ice WoS , Jockey Club, Also SG’s Banana. I like some of the Indian “food” flavours but they don’t tend to last too long Another personal  favourite is Snuffstore UK’s Cafe Noire, strong and long lasting. Read the reviews on Mr Snuff they are pretty good indications of taste and scent

W

Oh and Q Sandalwood, very nice in the nose too

L

Ah, thank you gentlemen. I have an exceedingly long list to try by the looks of it. Should be fun though
