I really, really liked the first two Abraxis snuffs I ever bought. The Cafe 11 is amazing with its beautiful, rich coffee and (is it floral?) scent and I think my tight little jar of Cerise is even better! I REALLY like both those snuffs, but I didn’t fall head-over-heals in love with either. But it was pretty close to it. If only the grind wasn’t quite so “gros”, if maybe they were’nt quite so dry and, in the case of the Cerise, if only it had a bit more cherry and maybe just a little more “something else”… THEN my heart could really do a flip for both of them. So I did what some guy’s might not think is a very nice thing to do to such already excellent snuffs… I made, what I think are, some improvements. But I did it using small amounts of snuff in case I goofed. To the Cafe 11 I just gave it a little tossing around in my mortar and pestle to break up a bunch of hard little chunks and to reduce the grind to about half it’s original coarseness. Then I added a few drops of food grade mineral oil and mixed and mixed until I had a beautiful fluffy and finer Cafe 11 that now I am really in love with. I didn’t do a lot to the Cafe 11, but to the Cerise I gave the same mortar and pestle treatment and a good fluffing-up with the oil and then, I had to do it, added just a small touch of cherry flavor and a tiny bit of chocolate as well. And, I’m telling you, I now have two tiny jars of some of the best snuffs I’ve ever taken. I’m absolutely in love with both. So… have I sinned? Am I going to Snuff Hell for messing around with these two great snuffs and, I confess, with a few others I’ve bought recently? I guess if I’m doomed for my crimes all I can say is… “So what, who cares? Its my snuff now, and its my nose, so go take a hike! I’m in love!” I guess what I really would like to know with this post is: What things have you done to the snuffs you’ve bought, why did you do it, and to which ones did you do it to? And, messing around like that… are you now madly in snufflove, like me?
You have not sinned. I think most have made adjustments? I haven’t made many myself, but have adjusted the grind and moisture content of a couple. It didn’t really work out for me though. I’m glad to hear that you were able to tweak a couple nice snuffs to make them into really great snuffs that work better for you. That’s what it’s all about to me. You bought it and can do with it as you please. Make sweet snuff love, why not? I’m still trying to figure out how I can make White Elephant smell like permanent marker and gasoline? I think it would be perfect if I could somehow figure it out. I just haven’t done what I know has to be done to make it work because it makes me think I’d be sinning; and in this case it probably would be.
No sacrilege here… It’s your snuff and it’s your nose!
I felt the same doubts when I mixed Dragun with White Elephant. All I can say is that the Devil tempted me. And I thank her for her suggestion.
I’ve mixed White Elephant with Fubar Snafu plain before, which made it a little easier to take, had a nice natural scent to it, and a good nic hit. It’s not something I do often, mix snuffs, but if it works for you, why the fudge not?!
There is a mad scientist in most of us!
Go for it:)
Don’t piddle on it. Keep snuff with respect. Otherwise, as you will.
As long as you keep your wedding tackle out of your snuff, no harm, no foul. :((

I’ve almost been tempted to try moistening some snuff with WD-40 but am afraid it would be too toxic; too bad, I love the smell.
