Hi all I have a question, I have an operation on Monday for 9teeth to come out :-S 4 wisdom…anyway in being put to sleep and have been told no smoking 24 hours before op as it effects oxygen levels …so does this include my lovely sniff ??? Please say no ad I am not ment to smoke for days after either
I think you have to ask your doctor that. We could say no but how much use would that be if it was completely wrong? Don’t get your health advice off web forums.
No you will be fine snuff away
Thanks guys my nerves will be up and if i get no Nicotine il be a mess :-S but at least no more abcesses …
I snused before I had mine out, after though was just snuff mouth being a little sore lol
Yea I think my mouth will be swollen and sore as hell but hopefully worth it in the long run …no pipe for me for a bit
I would take the advice that @Abraxas gave and check this with your doctor. Good luck with the operation.
smoking also dries out the sockets. That’s why I was told not to smoke after mine were pulled. I don’t think snuff would do that.

Infection with smoking, they will usually give Stitches with so many extraction, And blood loss will also be a factor. You will probably just want to rest after surgery and won’t worry about nicotine. They will give codine or other pain meds. Just stay hydrated and best of luck.Snuff when you recover you will know when
Best of luck from me too:)
Yeah, good luck! Had mine out several years ago. Trust them when they say “start taking your pain meds as soon as you get them”. I got through it with little or no pain that way- Vicodin does the trick!

This is the best web forum advice ever!
Wishing you the best of luck!!! Just follow the rules as outlined by the doc. I had a tooth pulled awhile back. They said “No smoking” so I waited a few hours and thought “What do they know!” lit up a cigar thinking I would just kick back and enjoy it slow and easy, and before you know it I pulled the clot, developed a dry socket that then became infected, resulting in having to have it scraped and heavy antibiotics. Just not worth it. The ‘GOODS’ will still be waiting for you when it is time and they will be ever so much more sweet to enjoy then!!!
…good luck Oxon…9 teeth…oh god! Be brave…and stay snuffin (as you´ll recover)
yeah when I had my wisdom teeth out I didn’t need the codiene for pain, it hurt but whatever (I’am easily distracted). I ended up using the codiene primarily cause it made not smoking bareable (not a recommended method of quiting nicotine cause codiene addictions can be just as bad as any other opiate additction).
The chances of even finding a doctor that has any knowledge of snuff is slim to none. Hope all goes well on Monday.
