I am really disappointed, i was loving no.66 for its delicate aroma of Indian flavour and a bit of menthol and it has been my favourite for a while. I have just opened a new tin and it is really different. The menthol is much stronger and I can no longer enjoy the delicate aromas because the menthol is overpowering them now. Has anyone else found this?i am sure I remember Vikas @6photo saying there was more menthol now in no.66 some time ago. I hope they change it back again though. I won’t be buying any more I dont think, as it is now more reminiscent of a European style menthol to me. No.66 was different. Afterthought- Or…is it because its a brand spanking new fresh vacuum sealed tin? Should I let it air? For how long?

N

Vikas did say he was adding more menthol to no.66 so I shan’t be buying any more no.66 unless he goes back to the original recipe If it ain’t broken don’t try to fix it.

Ah, it seems to have improved a bit after a couple of days in a wooden snuffbox. Perhaps it just needs airing before I sniff, rather than taking it right from out of the tin.

I thought the flour was different when I recently received 400g in the mail, but for me it was an improvement on the old. Darker, richer, almost chocolate-y, and yes, more of the medicated element. If anything I like the new much better, and I loved it before.

I am getting close to the end of my tin of No.66 so I will be reordering some more soon and will see if I can detect any difference between the two.

L

No, I conclude that it has changed after all. Opened my 30g tin over a month ago and it is still WAY over mentholated compared to what it was before. It is almost like No.666 now.

Mislabeled tin perhaps? Its been known to happen.

L

@Xander yes, will bear that in mind. Will have to order another tin now.
