I see a lot of people talking about hankercheifs on here. I’m not quite sure why. So how are they related to using snuff?

B

your nose will thank you!

T

Its a lot better to blow your snuff filled nose into a colored handkerchief than white tissue. Tissue is alright by yourself but if your around others, handkerchiefs are just better. They are good for the pocket, they will hold up a lot better than tissues in the pocket.

M

I would like one!

S

With that kind of determination, I doubt anyone here would have the power to stop you from buying one. Go nuts

T

mcosta, Deluth Trading does ship internationally so if you want to try those, try the link on bottom. They do have other patterns, just do a search under handkerchief. You can read about their international shipping here on my post on handkerchiefs. It on the 3rd comment. Handkerchiefs from Deluth

LMAO at Satyr’s humor. Right on man. On a side note Satyr, Out here the Shell Gas Stations are giving out some nice yellow cotton cloths with your gas purchase. They are surprisingly soft and I have been using one all day to wipe the schnozz and so far so good.

S

Hmmm, interesting. I usually don’t stop at Shell for gas unless I’m on the bike. It’s a little rich for my blood. I may make a stop just to check out these rags. I bet a yellow rag with brown stains hanging out the back pocket will attract the ladies. Like a big ol’ neon sign that says, “Come and get it!”

P

Yeah, the Shell gas is overpriced. I actually stopped after work just across the border in Indiana which made the price more reasonable. And the rags were actually a surprise.

S

I’ve found the softest, most comfortable fabric for my nose is cotton. Having a sewing shop, it’s short work for me to convert old khaki pant legs and shirt backs or sleeves into perfectly serviceable hankies. In fact, having been through the laundry hundreds of times, they are so soft and absorbent, I feel they are superior to a new one.

B

I carry one but only to wipe the excess snuff off my nose after taking a pinch. I use tissues to blow with, preferably the ones with aloe added.

T

Mo, Sportsmansguide.com carries a lot of the military rags. Keep checking about every week or so because they always get different things in.

T

The link I gave a while back to sportsmansguide or the one to Deluth. If its sportsmansguide, if you register for the contest that pops up on home page, they will send you a $5 off coupon no minimum order to your email. There are also coupons online for both Deluth & SPGuide.

I definitely prefer a hankie to a tissue. They seem to feel better than tissues are are less wasteful. I made the mistake once of forgetting my hankie when I left for work and regretted it all day. Now I keep a spare in my desk, and one in my car. Pure cotton seems to be softer, but I’ve recently only found cotton/polyester blends.

S

I’ve found silk-like hankies in the suit department of finer department stores here in the US like Kohl’s, JC Penney’s and Sears. They’re softer than the bandanas you find at Wal-Mart. ;>)

L

@bigblue1: I’ll be heading to walmart after work tonight, I’ll have to see what I can find.

T

The handkerchiefs at Deluth are hard to beat. They have plaid & stripe. Perfect thickness, not too thin or too thick. Very absorbent & feels great on the nose. There is a pattern they bring out during the holidays that I prefer but the others are great as well. Most of the bandanas are too thick & big for my liking. You can get smaller ones at wholesaleforeveryone.com Hankies @ Deluth Holiday Pattern Hopefully they bring these back this year so I can order more.

T

Pretty reasonable and if you look around online sometimes you can find online coupon codes for deluth. Sometimes free shipping or a % off, sometimes a free gift. Here is the shipping chart. They also ship international

L

It was $2.19 when I filled up last night!!

D

wow you guys have it so good ha ha

L

I put a cold bottle of soda in my back pocket along with my hankie a few days ago. When I used the cold hankie it felt great. For some reason it felt softer that usual, and very soothing. I’ve been putting hankies in the fridge since. Give it a try if you like.

S

It was $2.17 when I filled up on sunday. =] =] ~Snuffy

S

Pretty cheap!! We’re at $2.79 here in Northern IL. Chicago (Cook County to be exact) is still at $3.15 as of Monday morning.

O

I paid $2.69 today. I’m in northern IL also. I was thrilled til I read this thread and saw that leman and snuffy are getting it for $.50 cheaper! Of course I won’t be satisfied until I can use a credit card and it stops pumping because the tank is full instead of shutting off because it hits $75! Back on topic: the hohoho hankies that Trout pointed out from Deluth are awesome, as are the other hankies there. I"ve always got one in my pocket. And they don’t really look like x-mas or anything as you might guess from the hohoho name. I even forgot that that’s what they called them. If I can find a free shipping deal again I think I’ll get some more this year. My other favorites were from ebay, brought to my attention I believe by Mountain Man. Where’s he been hiding lately? I always liked his little tagline…“I nose what I likes and I likes what I nose”

X

I don’t think that holiday hanky is coming back. It didn’t last year. I have the page bookmarked. However, they keep the page online, which makes you think its coming back. Maybe another month, and we’ll see.

Hello all, I just wanted to pass on a tip for those looking to save a little money like me. If you have a bunch of old t shirts (100% cotton ) in your dresser like I do, just cut them up into large pieces. If you sew or someone you know sews just have them hem them for you. Also you can pick up cheap clothing dyes in most large stores and make them any color you want. The ones I made are really soft on the nose. Hope this helps!

C

Eek, $20 for 6! I get 3 for $2.96 at Wal-Mart, or the packs of plain white ones for a few bucks.

M

MilSurp HankiesThey work out to a buck fifty each or something, are not white, are a piece of history (kinda) and were made in the USA. Going to get some at some point.

N

Anyone use silk? I have been curious to try it out.

X

I have a couple silk ones. They’re a hassle to wash.

C

@MatSnuffs: I’ll have to look at surplus’ around here for those, look nice and durable.

P

The hankies I got from Nicotine Rush seem to be of good quality, and reasonably priced.

B

I paid £2.95 each for hankies from My Smoking Shop and I wish I hadn’t. They’re all already fraying at the edges after a few washes because they had only been folded once before stitching. The ones from snuffstore and Frederick Tranter are much better.

J

I’m a simple man, I just get mine at Walmart.

M

I’ve a few from walmart myself, but something that was made in the USA, even if it was 30 or 40 years ago, is still preferable to me than the ones from walmart imported from the PRC

C

I agree, Matsnuffs. I’m going to source out some surplus this weekend.

Have you guys tried Etsy? All kinds of vintage stuff there. Tons of hankies vintage, handmade, or recycled. Etsy
