hand made “steampunk” snuff spoon .

S

So I have been known to tinker and make things. I decide to make a snuff spoon that did not look like a typical snuff spoon. For a few reasons mostly so i can carry it and not have to explain it every time I get in a situation where cops are involved. Now I’m not saying my name is known at the local police stations , because frankly its not , but I do have tattoos dont need a silly charge such as a cop might give after a long search of my car , to turn up empty handed but my snuff spoon . Any way I like the steampunk style , and in general i like old things so here it is …

S

it was meant to be a key chain , but i don’t think I will use this one

C

@SirSnuff very nice! I love steampunk style!

C

I also love Hedges L260.

S

I also love Hedges L260.

it was way to much menthol at first , but the tins half empty and im liking it a lot

B

Very creative ,Shame i don’t require a spoon i would so buy one. A+ for originality

E

S

i do have the tendency to “nerd out” over snuff, I also like the history lessons I get along my snuff studies.

S

Very cool.

T

Just now saw your steamspoon Cool!

H

You need to get yourself a pocketwatch and use it as a fob on the other end of the watch chain!

H

LOTS of nice steampunk pocket watches out there…

S

im working on a matching snuff box at the moment . if i got a matching pocket watch , i might have to start dressing up 1800’s style and use a walking cane

H

The walking stick is a GREAT street weapon! I never leave home without my snuffboxes, pocketwatch and walking stick.

T

@howdydave You don’t strike me as someone who uses a street weapon. Are you secretly a superhero named The Dandyman?

H

@TomStrasbourg I have been studying the walking stick as a martial arts weapon for quite a few years… Jodo, Tai Chi Chuan, Baguazhang, Bartitsu, and a number of interdisciplinary techniques. See the links on my martial arts page: http://www.howdydave.com/karate1.html

H

Since I have a reconstructed ankle due to losing a bout with the floor in my early days when practicing Tae Kwon Do, I have walked with a cane. My interest in martial arts persuaded me to learn about the cane as a weapon. After all… every single martial arts teacher that I’ve had has said that “finding a weapon for yourself” was a preliminary option to be used before falling back on your empty hand technique.

H

For Steampunk, I would definately suggest BARTITSU (“the martial art of Sherlock Holmes”)!

A

I carry a Cold Steel Irish Blackthorne - terrific weapon if used correctly and agreat all round walking stick, martial uses aside. I’m looking at buying one of their slim sticks next.

S

heres an update , i finished the box , which is on it side in the photo , the top (which slides ) is not decorated , mostly the bottom is an the lighter “wrap” was made by a buddy of mine , 3 years or so back

M

Nice

T

@howdydave. Have you checked out Mark Shuey’s cane fighting videos? Ooh! You do Taiji? I do Chen Style Taijiquan. and Yang style, Kyudo, Kajukenbo, Eskrima and (Contemporary) Wushu. Not so much jumping for me in Wushu because I had a back injury that is aggravated by jumps and Acrobatics.
