I’ve heard that the best way to grow moss is to pick existing moss, throw it in a blender with some distilled water, and then pour it on the ground where you want it to grow. It’s cold here now and the moss is plumped up and is still very green. Does anyone know if it would be okay to do this during winter? Otherwise, does anyone have any more information about this process? Sorry, I know this isn’t a gardening forum, but thought I would throw it out there anyway.

I’ve read that one can accelerate the growth of moss by adding buttermilk to the blender. Some clever graffiti artists are now tagging concrete walls with the watered down moss/buttermilk blend, which paints on clear, then a few weeks/months down the road their work appears as a mossy growth.

Yogurt works too. Real yogurt and not with fruit in it.
