I have noticed that too, not so much on the newer or 10g tins but definitely on the older 25g ones. It’s certainly from the tin, you can see a lot of deep scratches on the side and this stuff is really soft.

One for Roderick; I’m sure he would replace without any hesitation.

Well at first it scared me because i was like, i do not want to be sniffing metal in my nose. That was just today, i have to be careful be cause its usually worse than in the video, i had wiped the can down with a dry cloth yesterday and there was more than what u see on my finger in the video. Roderick, any thoughts on thiss?

I have to agree, I’m not a fan of the 25 gram Toque twist cans either as the metal seems way too soft, and obviously as evidenced in this video the metal seems to be grinding itself free. The 10 gram tins are absolutely perfect though as although they are screw top they close with just a quarter turn preventing the heavy amount of grinding of metal that you must endure when twisting the 25 gram tin shut. I’m sure Roderick will utilize this info to improve the 25 gram container…and also most likely do what he can to help you out grim…

Grim, I think your comments were out of line mate. As you said we are adults here so we don’t need to cuss each other like children in the playground. There are users here who have found your words offensive and have requested that you stop. One member is so unhappy about this kind of thing he is saying he wants to leave. We’re a tight-knit community here and we don’t like to see people leaving over stuff like this, its totally unnecessary. I know what its like when you feel you have to defend your honour against attacks to save face etc but I don’t think your words were appropriate and I would respectfully ask that in future you refrain from using them. We all deserve the chance to voice our opinions without getting abused for it.

Im not like that all the time. I mean i hate when im trying to get help with something and someone jumps in and basically says im retarded. I just thought someone should see what i was talking about, and it wouldnt be a big deal if it wasnt getting on my pinching fingers when i open the lid. I use a bullet to pour a certain amount on my fingers to avoid that situation in the vid, but i just thought it was something roderick needs to see. Ive only been using snuff for almost 3 weeks now and in no way claim to know what the hell im talking about. The open tin i got today was a 10G tin, that was messed up when it got here which is being replaced. The snuff also smells like the inside of an envelope. But the can didnt have the residue that the one shown has. Hopefully roderick will respond to my email so i can know hes seen the vid and ill take it down from youtube because toque makes great snuff and do not want others to see it and be like, damn thats pretty bad. As soon as he confirms hes seen it and lets me know whats up ill remove it.

wow grim you sure are having withdraw symptoms from no snuff you over reacted yesterday and i personaly think your over reacting today . Toque tins are good enough to hold food in and because of this they are made to such high quality i think your best bet is just to lay quiet and not make anymore realy silly posts at the end of the day your problems can be delt with by the shops its pointless posting here about it were is it going to get you unless you wanted to cause a stir ? If i buy a car and it goes wrong i dont report everything possible to a forum i simply take it back !

I never said i wanted that one fixed, Roderick asked if I could post some pics to show him. It was easier to post a vid because the pictures were very blurry. I agree with the fact toque snuff is great!! I just dont like the tins. Personal preference. I in no way, shape, fashion or form expected to have a refund or ask for a replacement. Thats stupid. Nor do I want a replacement. I still use it, im just careful about using it with that stuff on my fingers. If i hastily remove the lid it gets on my fingers, but i can wipe that on my pants. Roderick just stated he would like to see a photo or something to see what i was talking about. Only reason this thread even exists was because he wanted to answer my questions better and needed to see what i was tlaking about. And i may have over reacted about the condition my products arrived in but ive never received goods in such bad shape and ive been ordering tobacco products online for some time now.

Well out of curiosity I checked all my tins & not one of mine did this, not even the old empty tins. But then again I don’t carry the tin in my pocket nor do I crank the lid tight. I just turn till its snug?

I checked my tins as well, the newer small tins don’t have the dust but I have a 25g chocolate that does. I guess I’m just not too worried about it as it is on the outside of the tin.

My guess is that like Roderick mentioned, it has to be caused by damaging the threads. All my tins are the 25g.

but im sorry to say this but i dont drive my car into a wall i drive it with care hence what you replicated shows that you should not miss treat the tin i think all tins would do this if treated without care

Just so that I won’t feel left behind, I would also like to drop my penny. I have 12 of the older type 25g tins and 4 of the new 10g tins. None of the big tins show any sign of “dust”. I did find some “dust” on the inner flange of the 10g tin’s lids though I had to turn the lid a couple of times to produce it. It does not worry me at all because it can’t get mixed up with the snuff. And if I remember to do so I will wipe the tins from time to time. I am worried about the rusted tins I often receive. Whenever I receive snuff in a rusted tin, I immediately transfer the snuff to another, preferably plastic, container. I buy “pill bottles” at the pharmacy at 10c a piece. That’s the ones with the lid attached to the bottle and the lid is flipped open, does not screw on.

Oh! I’ve been doing it wrong! all the time I’ve been tossing out the snuff and sniffing the rust and silver dust. I’ve got the hang of it all now, feel a lot better.

Oh hell, I must correct myself. PLEASE NOTE, THE RUSTED TINS I MENTIONED ARE NOT FROM TOQUE. I’m talking about the ordinary, tins with push down lids.
