That’s what I’m using now. I’m back here in Qatar where no commercial snuff is to be had or brought in, and my latest resort has been to take naswar, a moist green chewing tobacco used by pakistanis, and grind it up. It comes in green clumps/balls/pellets which somewhat resemble sheep droppings(in aroma as well I’m afraid), and the result is that the texture is very much like a rappe, excepting the green colour. It stinks at the beginning, but over a few days it mellows out and is almost pleasant. Incidently, naswar is also the word writting in Arabic/Urdu letters on most Indian nasal snuffs, similar to how both nasal and oral products are sometimes called snuff back in the US.
‘almost pleasant’ - I really feel for you. Is there no possibility of getting snuff online or even sent to you privately?
It’s too much of an ordeal getting anything shipped here. Just winds up siting around for ages, and if it’s something they don’t understand you have to go meet with the Ministry of Health to explain, or they test it. I once got a call from the ministry that they were holding “medications” I had sent, which was actually just a small bottle of eucalyptus oil from the pharmacy.
I see. Could you, without going out of the country, get hold of tobacco seeds? You have the right climate to grow and we could talk you through making your own. Might seem far fetched but tobacco is not overly difficult to grow and making snuff out of something like raw Rustica is very achieveable.
I have a friend coming to visit me and I’ll have a MrSnuff order sent to him before he comes. I probably won’t stay long enough and have some Hopfenschnuff and O&G I think waiting for me in NY, but I would order a week or two before going home to make sure some nice refreshment awaits my return. You could get pipe tobacco here, and I’m thinking it might be less harsh than this raw green poison I’m sniffing.
What pipe tobacco do they sell there ? Is there stuff only locally available ? Would love to know about some obscure arabic pipe tobacco. Anyway, i am nearly sure that most of this people hit the hooka in case they consume tobacco, right ?
There is hookah tobacco but also regular pipe tobacco. I never smoked so I don’t recall the names, but they looked rather average to me. Something with a ship on the wrapper which came in various blends, including gold something. You can get cigaretes, cigars, pipes, everything except snuff. A Nepali coffee server claimed it was available and sent me on a wild goose chase, but the next day he said he didn’t know and couldn’t get it for me.

Sorry to hear about your predicament matero. Any chance you can grind up some good cigar or pipe tobacco just to get by on?
Tambolaka, which is unprocessed hookah tobacco is said to make a decent snuff.

Wait, do you mean that light brown block of leaves from Iran?? If so, that’s the first stuff I ever tried when I got back to the US last time untill my snuff order arrived. For me, it was really harsh, brutal stuff. Maybe the toasting idea would help.
