**** This is a new snuff from Pöschl and I must say I am rather impressed with it. At least I’m impressed with the snuff. The container it comes in is a different matter altogether! First the positive. Grado is dark snuff of medium-coarse grind and a middling moisture level (oiled rather than purely water moistened as is usual with Pöschl snuffs). Easy to take, it has a deep, rich, coffee flavouring with just a hint of menthol. Personally I think it would be improved if the menthol was left out completely but even as it is it is well worth four stars. Not in the same league as Samuel Gawith’s Black Coffee (surely the yardstick for judging all other coffee scented snuffs) but a worthy addition to the Pöschl line up. Now the negative - that wretched 4g dispenser the snuff comes in! It is quite impossible to dispense a decent quantity through the 6x3mm slot in the side, given the moisture level of the snuff. Yes, you can prize the thing open, accepting the risk of spilling the stuff everywhere, and transfer the contents to a proper snuff box, but 4g of snuff looks a bit lost in the average snuff box. And then, a couple of hefty pinches later it’s all gone. A 25g vacuum packed tin (SG style) of this would be a much better option, were it available.
