McChrystals O&G is familiar to most menthol fans. Although I am a confirmed menthol lover I did not have an opportunity to try O&G or any McChrystals products until very recently. I was happy to see McChrystals sells direct to the customer. Furthermore, they figure VAT correctly depending whether you live in or outside the EU. The website is attractive and easy to deal with and from my limited experience based on one order I can say my order was packed correctly and shipped promptly, according to their promises.

One complaint I have read from many McChrystals fans is that the 3,5g tins are too small to pinch from and indeed this is my experience. (I will note the 4,5g Jip! tins are big enough to pinch from comfortably.) Apparently McChrystals does offer their flavored (non O&G) snuffs in their “Large” tins which are 8,75g (and possibly their Extra Large tins which are 21g) through retail channels but they were not for sale on their website. I asked about this but did not receive an answer. I also asked why their very popular Hops snuff was not for sale on the site and I was told a new website is in the works and that the plan is to offer the Hops snuff on the new site.

I am hoping to do a menthol comparison but I have a few orders from various shops and vendors which have not yet arrived. More to come.

I had contacted McChrystals before about this usa website. He said he knows nothing about it. I had not ordered from the USA site.

I wanted to test their inventory since on the front page it states factory fresh to the U.S so I added 5 to the cart of 200 gram hops. states - on order. Products marked with -ON ORDER- dont exist in desired quantity in our stock.

Please alter the quantity of products marked with (-ON ORDER-), Thank you .  This is not factory fresh as stated. I think someone mentioned this was a MS store. 

The age verification looked like the one Mrsnuff uses so I checked the domain registry. Everybody is using privacy services for domain registration nowadays so  we can’t see the contact info but at least Mrsnuff and mcchrystalsusa.com are using the same domain registrar. I would bet that’s who owns the site.

There is a  German site at mcchrystals.com seemingly also not the official site.

Anyway the official site is the one I mentioned in my opening post. I know because I have corresponded with Ian, the owner of McChrystals.

The snuff I ordered from McChrystals in October has an October 2015 date stamped on it. It seems to me they are making a point to ship very fresh snuff.

Oh and the prices on the so-called “USA” site are outrageous btw. If you live in America can buy some of the McChrystals direct from the offficial site. Hopefully the full line will be available at some point.

Thank you. I fail to see how it was inappropriate to post it in General and that it should belong in Types of Snuff given the thread is about a store, not an individual snuff. But then again we have very few categories compared to most forums (and indeed it’s questionable if we need the ones we already have) and apparently the moderators need something to do, so…

I ordered from their “USA” website too, and I think it was from Mr Snuff. As someone mentioned, the snuff I ordered had date stamps on the back, and they were very fresh and excellent.
