good place to buy snuffboxes?

Looking for a pocket-sized box that’ll hold up well and I’m not sure where to start. I’ve ordered a Posh bullet and a plastic Mr. Snuff slider recently… I’ve got another bulky plastic slider myself, but I’d rather have something small that’ll hold up. Doesn’t need to hold too much… 5g would be fine. Anyone have advice or direction?

Wow! Thank you so much. I read the tin dispenser holds 50 grams. Is that a typo? That sounds massive.

Patrick Collins boxes are very well made. I have several and carry a single-sized one every day with no problems. I guess if you had a job that was very physical you could break one, but otherwise they should last a lifetime.

I’m going to order one of the triple tecks now. Gorgeous, and comes with a spoon - what’s not to like?

I think it would hold about 15 grams. It is only 1.5 inch wide and 3/4 inch tall. I fill mine with twice my daily use ;so I don’t run out. Fits nice in the pocket. works better with drier snuff, It has a hole in the side you have to turn and line up it’s twin hole then tap out your snuff,or you could open it and pinch. Not bad for the price. I would say get a snuffbox.org box but I see Mr.Snuff is sold out. I had my input on the size and it is perfect for everyday use. The only down fall is the side slide, the small plastic slide retainer breaks. There were five colors I bought several of each. Thanks @basement_shaman‌ you helped me score a good one! I think I also got one of the last snuffbox.org boxes off Amazon actually. I went for that one last night thinking it might be a good fit. Then I read a thread talking about the slide problems and started worrying, and thus this thread was born. Still, between it and the Tripletech I should be great! Edited to add: bought the flask, too. I think I’m done now… For now.

If I remember right the main problem with the slide is snuff would build up in the tracks and, cause issues to breaking. If you skip using the slide I think it should be fine. when I get mine I may duct tape the slide shut.

For me a snuffbox is all about the slide… I love being able to tap out a perfect hit on the ol’ boxcar. Still, a good pinch isn’t to be dismissed.

I super-glued the slides shut on all of mine to make then as airtight as possible. I never used them as tap boxes anyway, pinch only here.

Got it in the mail tonight! Works very well - nice tight fit and the spoon is a great bonus. Well worth $40!

I went on a serious snuff box buying binge about a year ago, I’ve got wood, silver, pewter and papier manche. But the only ones I really use now are my Patrick Collins’ and the plastic ones. Patrick Collins are a work of art and extremely practical at the same time, but I don’t use them for anything moister than Toque Quit. Artisan snuffs usually go in the plastic boxes, it keeps them well.

I have tried various snuffboxes, but these days all I use for my primary snuffs is the plastic ones from Mr Snuff. I only tend to pinch rather than pour, ans these boxes do it better than anything else I’ve tried. The only time I’ll use the side hatch and pour is when getting the last dregs out that are lurking in the corners. Aside from that, I might occasionally pocket a WoS or Toque tin of one of the more occasional snuffs, although generally they’ll be taken at my desk of an evening
