Going to NYC

I’m going back to New York City. I have done some online searches but I’m still not sure where to find a great shop that sells all kinds of snuff. I’m sure living in a place like NY there’s less of a need to order huge amounts online and I can just go to a shop and buy snuff as needed. Does anybody know where to go?

It seems to me, NY is one of the most anti-tobacco states. They tried to ban flavored dip not long ago, but the courts stopped them.

I have read about a store selling a few Indian brands, I’ll look back and see if I can find it. Look in any Indian groceries, or Jewish shops.

Ah, sorry Matero, it was in Brookline, MA that sold the TAS Madras.

Been twice and looked all over for a decent tobacconist but didn’t find one, although a couple of really expensive cigar shops in Manhattan.

Hmmm, haven’t lived that way in a while, and having trouble thinking of where. You never know what you might find in the village. Barring that you never know what you might find at some of bodegas in Spanish Harlem. It could be an adventure, an adventure best done by tourists during day light hours. Ken

Actualy I was going to say something similar to devilock. All the cats I’ve known from new york it has always been the ones from the hood that had any idea what snuff was. Same thing with Philly. So I’am sure some bodega or such must have snuff.

lol@snuff in the hood in philly. i could just imagine some dude in germantown just looking at u saying"u drawin" if u ask him about it. You may be right just the idea made me laugh. But I was hoping to find a shop where I can get a nice variety, not just a bodega that has one kind in the back next to the Bustelo coffee.

I’m not a tourist though I was born and raised in Brooklyn, just out here for business but I’m going home next week.

I honestly think you are more likely as far as NY goes to find a tabocconist with snuff in a large mall out on Long Island or maybe that one by the tappen zee with the ferris wheel in the food court. I bet there is a Tinderbox or something in that place. I do find it funny, that on any given night you could get an education on the myriad of illegal drugs out there just by walking through Washington Square park, but you cannot find unique forms of a legal and very American cash crop- substance. Then again I remember when Hell’s Kitchen did not have a Starbucks. Welcome to the 21st century, now where is the rewind button. Ken

If you try some high end tobacconist you may find some Pöschl and if you are lucky some Wilsons and F&T. If you go up to Harlem, you will find plenty of American scotches. If you go out to Flushing, Queens, to Patel Brothers they have a few Indian snuffs. If I were you, and you have an address in Brooklyn, just make an order with Nicotine Rush now, before they stop domestic shipping. That way you will have a nice snuff collection waiting for you when you get there.

HERE is a list of names and addresses of upscale tobacconists in New York City. Davidoff for certain will have at least Pöschl, as they are the US importer.

De La Conchas in Manhattan stocks Pöschls, but it’s only GH Apricot, Packards Club, President and Ozonas last time I was there. I’m meeting up with rdunnion Saturday and going to Jackson Heights to check out some Indian grocery stores. Last time I was in, they had some Indian snuffs there. They usually seem to be stocked in health & beauty, ayurvedic, or incense sections.

Barclay Rex has 3 or 4 locations in Manhattan. They do have a nice house blend snuff. They also have the usual Pöschl, Wilsons, etc.

House blend? A snuff I haven’t had before? Somone better trade me some!

Thanks for all the tips. I went to the Barclay Rex website and there was no mention of snuff, but I’ll take your word for it that they have some. Why are companies going to stop shipping?
