My friend is a big pipe smoker and has quite a collection of pipes and tobacco blends and all and his birthday is coming up and i wanted to get him some pipe tobacco. i know nothing of pipes or anything like that, what are some really good or popular brands/blends that you would recommend?

depends on whether he prefers aromatic blends or straight tobacco blends or English blends and how set in his ways he is… some rather nice middle of the road blends are Orlik Golden Slices, Dunhill Early Morning Pipe, Gawith and Hogarth Rum Flake. OTC drug store blend might be Prince Albert, Sir Walter Raliegh, Sail Yellow.

Might be worth seeing if you can get him a voucher for one of the online stores, that way they could choose their own.

Dunhill EMP is a firm fav of mine, as is GL Pease chelsea Morning. If he likes his English blends they are always good, if he likes Latikia blends, then Dunhill Nightcap is a bomb as is Sam Gawith Squadron Leader. If he likes aromatics then Peterson’s Nutty Cut is my favourite but I love GQ Tobaccos own blends. Th voucher idea may be your best bet or, find out what style he likes then buy some tobacco and give a voucher for an online store so it’s the best of both worlds.
