Gin snuffs

I’m looking for some snuffs that have a gin component to it. I did notice that one of the Gawith blenders had a gin n tonic one. How is that? Also are there any other snuffs that have gin as a component? I’m looking for something light and refreshing if that’s possible. Another thing. For blenders both home, commercial, and artisan blenders. Have you had success in blending snuffs infused with gin? I’m not asking for recipe secrets, but what would be some good base tobaccos to start off with? I blend pipe tobacco and have a good amount of blending tobacco. Thanks in advance.

Try grinding up some flue cured dominant tobacco and giving it a splash of your favorite gin then putting it in something airtight to age for a bit. Try it out, what’s the worst that can happen? *ducks*

After posting this I was thinking of a red va base and some kind of citrus.

What about SWS Fields of Juniper? One of the best snuffs out there, whether or not you like gin!

I do like the scent of SWS FoJ but it gave me a horrendous drip. So much so I had to trade it away. I think I have some SG Gin and Tonic stashed away somewhere, but it’s so long since I’ve had a pinch of it, I can’t remember much about it

I’ll check out sws foj.

I always thought gin smelled like a fir tree.

Bernard Fichtennadel always reminded me of Gin & tonic.

@basement_shaman, yep the juniper does remind me a lot of a xmas tree too. Speaking of it, is the SG Christmas pinch any good or is it much like an air freshener? Anyway, a Bombay Sapphire snuff sounds delicious!

@Chicago_CA SG CP had not tried.

@basement_shaman some gins have a pine or fir tree scent. Others have a botanical citrus smell. I prefer the botanical ones. @Chicago_CA Bombay sapphire is a pretty good one. If you like gin, you should try Citadel. It’s a smooth sipping gin and does well in mixed drinks like gnt and martinis.

@Psicko ill give Citadel a try. I take my gin over ice and squeeze some lime juice then let the rind sit in the glass and top it off.

I dug out my tin of SG Gin and Tonic earlier. Pleasant, not something I’d probably want repeated pinches of, but I get the feeling it needs a little airing or a little more time to mellow.

Thanks. Yeah, it doesn’t seem like it would be an all day, or even an everyday thing. I was looking at old mill and they have one called take 5. Anyone try that one?

@Psicko I think it’s an absolutely lovely snuff, but then again, I currently on a worship @chefdaniel kick

I got some Bernard Fichtennadel in the schnauze right now and it does give off a gin-y note.

I grabbed some SG gn & tonic and it definitely wasn’t what I had hoped it would be. Rather than predominant juniper, it’s mostly lime. Not bad, as a matter of fact I have it in my pocket now, more of a tonic and lime. A virgin G&T if you will.

I too was disappointed with the SG. I’m a huge fan of their darks and, equally importantly, a nice G&T. To me, this doesn’t do what it says on the tin. I’m hoping that, as with so many snuffs in the past, a re-visit will improve my opinion.

The take 5 may be the way. I was hoping the SG gnt would be the way, but doesn’t sound like it.
