G.Smith and Sons

Just got my first order or G. Smith & Son’s snuff. I ordered from McGahey’s and the service was great. The price is high but it is definately worth it on one of the 2 snuffs from G.Smiths they offer… #1 - Worth every penny, Cafe Royale is advertised as the world’s most expensive snuff and it is worth every penny, dark in color, moist as copenhagen, and as flavorful as any snuff I have tried. The coffee scent of this snuff is awesome. I do like me some Toque espresso, as well as some Gawith Black Coffee, but this one absolutely blows them away. It is well worth the money. #2 - Not worth an order unless you enjoy the flavor of a ground up bar of cheap soap. Golden Cardinal is an absolutely horrendous snuff, which costs the same as the Cafe Royale. If you are thinking of ordering one of each from McGahey like I did, save yourself the $$$$ and order two of the Royale. Golden Cardinal is a moist, light brown snuff which smells like a bar of soap. A complete waste of money. McGahey’s service was great to Chicago Illinois, but if you are placing an order through them in my opinion, only the Cafe Royale is worth the purchase. It’s a 5 star snuff, worth every penny… Get 2 , 3 or even 10 of the Royale, you won’t be disappointed but steer clear of the Cardinal unless you like the scent of a ground up bar of soap…

It’s all a matter of personal taste. Personally I would go for two of the Golden Cardinal rather than one of each. I love the stuff! Though the Cafe Royale isn’t bad.

For me too, it’s Golden Cardinal first. Save money on the Café Royal and buy Samuel Gawith Black Coffee, it’s about the very same!

Yes the Sam Gawith Black Coffee is very similar to the Cafe Royale, but I think the Royale is a bit more flavorful and has a silkier feel in the nose especialy for being such a coarse snuff. As always, different tastes for everybody, after reading ermtony and Snuff heads comments I took another couple pinches and it’s definately not as bad as I first thought but still not a favorite. I can’t figure out what the flavor is supposed to be. It reminds me a bit of Sam Gawith Lavender, but still very soapy. I feel like I’m 5 years old and my nose just said a curse word and mom washed it out with some soap.
