I found some fur trade era snuff tins on a black powder supply site I look at on occasion. I thought a few of you fine folks might like to take a look as well. They have brass, nickel-silver, and copper, 2 3/4" round size. Here is the link if you wish to see for yourself. http://www.trackofthewolf.com/List/Item.aspx/1080/1 I like the copper and might get one for my desk
Not Bad!
Seen these before . Ok for dip and snus. I will keep my snuffhouse.org plastic snuff boxes designed for snuff. Thanks for the link. The powder horns http://www.trackofthewolf.com/List/Item.aspx/76/1 looks doable. Make one hell of a snuff tap box
That’s true. I could see me with a small horn w/strap, just shaking the snuff directly into each nostril… Good thinking man, the horns wasn’t even on my radar (not into blackpowder rifles, I go there for the other kit).
I have one of those powder horns. It would be better reworked into a smaller size with a smaller opening. Might be nice for passing around a schmalzler. Judging from the horn snuff bottles I have snuff dries out quickly in horn.
@Pennanngalan a small bellows would be awesome http://homegardenoutdoors.com/product/75043\\_Panacea-Products-15312-Large-Fireplace-Bellow-19-L-x-7-25-W-x-1-25-D.html Just load the nossel with bohica and blow your head off
I think that BOHICA is the last snuff I would do that with @Juxtaposer - They have a small horn (4-5 inch length) made for flash powder (probably a smaller hole since the powder is of a finer grind). This model might be more suitable. The drying issue would be limiting though. I would probably take it apart and seal the inside of the horn with wax or something to keep the cow smell out of my baccy anyway, that might help.
@Pennanngalan use some spray laquer on the exterior to seal it a bit more wouldnt hurt either
That couldn’t hurt either.
