What an amazing snuff this is! I was turned off by the military-based packaging, but man am I glad that I ordered some. This is bound to become one of my everyday snuffs. It’s dry and quite fine, but I can handle it so much better than american snuffs. There is so much going on with the taste, and the nicotine hit is great. If anyone hasn’t tried this yet, do yourself a favor and pick up a tin. (Nicotinerush.com has the best prices I have seen for them.) ~Snuffy

Great, glad you like it. There’s really nothing not to like imo, great flavor and satisfaction, I still use these every day. I think the Shot is just as good and Medic is pretty nice too.

I agree Tony. I could have probably been safe ordering a bulk bag direct from roderick but I also wanted to try the grunt and the f & t hdt so I was able to put together an order worhty of the shipping costs. How’s that Stoker’s working out?

I haven’t tried the Grunt yet (though I intend to) and the F&T HDT is truly superb. It’s one I never want to be without. I know what you mean about making an order worth the shipping cost… I seem to do that a lot! Must say I love the Stoker’s Plain. A really exceptional snuff. I dread the day when it’s all gone. I do hope you’re enjoying those Schmalzlers just as much.

I finally gave the poshl doppelaroma a fair try yesterday and today. I really enjoy it! I’m pretty sure this one will be one that i will enjoy everyday, kind of like a treat that I will pinch when I’m home.

Glad you like it! I find I tend to use the very fruity ones like the Doppelaroma fairly sparingly and the plainer ones, like the Schmalzler A and the Bernard Brasil Feinst rather more often. The latter is one of my favourites.

Since I have my “hands full” all day walking dogs, I rely heavily on my bullets. I carry five with me all day. I think all the schmalzers will be perfect for the evening wind down period before i go to bed. Lately I’ve been carrying Toque menthol / quit and rooster / quit blends in two of my bullets. They definitly keep me going during a long day!

Quit + Rooster must be quite awesome! I’ll have to give it a try. Using the bullets when dog walking makes sense and I don’t think any Schmalzler would work in a bullet. I agree, they are great snuffs for relaxing with.

Back to the Grunt, I have been using it for about 2 weeks now and love it. I will expound on the brief review I made on other threads. Back in about 81’ or 82’ I got some RYO for Stag tobacco that they called Turkish Gold. It was pure oriental and no burly. They only had it in bulk so I don’t know the brand. It had all the smoothness of Balkan tobacco and a spiciness of an Indian curry. I smoked a lot of that back in the day. I have also had some cigars with java wrappers that had this spiciness. Those are the only things I can compare this to. I am wondering if this is not a Balkan/Java blend. Hay, Mr. Snuff you want to weigh in on this?

I want to ad one more thing. I can see this type of plain snuff becoming a classic in the vain of HDT or SPs.

I just got some Grunt finally. I really like it, especially the scent after it sits in for a while. Soothing and smooth. Glad I got the 50g can!

IT’s definatly a great snuff. How would you descripe the scent?

Slight coconut and Musk, lots of observations as to human musk, but really just good tobacco, I just absolutely love grunt, and use it all day everyday, has that burn and kick that I have come to love, just really good strong snuff, not a subtle one though, just satisfies.

I’ve never sensed the high nic hit that others speak of with this snuff. I usually get too distracted by the rotting socks/panties scent in my nose, that it totally kills my buzz. I have never eaten a coconut that tastes like this, so I disagree with that description too. My experience is based on about 10 total pinches of this snuff on 4 or 5 occasions. That was a few months ago. I will pull this out again tonight… To the Snuffbar!

My nose must be fried. I get birthday cake out of it. Socks n panties? nah, I don’t get that, unless they use them to make birthday cake. I don’t feel a big nic hit either.

I still get coconut.

I still get coconut too! But as I recently purchased a large quantity of grunt, the latest batch is remarkably different, so I have 250 grams (old) that smells of coconut, and 300 grams (newer) that is panties. Not so crazy about those panties either, but am hoping to adapt, I still want to have this one always! Love that slight coconut, and always look forward to the short burn now.

I really disliked this to begin with and said so publicly, but was then scalped for being unfair. I then used it exclusively for a week and really changed my opinion. It’s a great snuff and that coconut - which I believe is accidental - just adds to it. Strong, tasty and hits the spot.

am I the only one who thinks it’s very cigarish? Oddly I only get the coconut smell if I’am out of doors when I snuff it.

I was actually disappointed not to be able to get a cigar scent from it, although it may just be my nose. I seem to take forever to distinguish small nuances in some snuff, and some guys just have a phenomenal ability to detect tiny little hints.

If you like Grunt, and the mellow coolness of Sparrow Cool, I recommend trying Blast Strong Menthol. I would not call it Strong Menthol, because the menthol is mellow, but it really highlights the tobacco which reminds me of Grunt.

Thanks for the input Tom502- I have the blast, I prefer the Dholakia medicated, closer to menthol Grunt, but i seem to be the one who cannot tolerate even the slightest amount of menthol without days of recuperation, it is my curse, I love it so, i am trying to battle it out and desensitize myself. My menthol problem is really a pain, lots of suffering, I was hoping it was just Poschals, but even O&G tears me up. A real bad response, and I feel sorry for anybody else who suffers from this. Half the greatest snuffs in the world off limits, bummer.

I have tried the Quit With Snuff, which is as I understand, also made for Mr. Snuff. Those of you who have tried both, which blend do you like better? Which gives the stronger nic hit, and has the better scent? I’ve not tried FUBAR, but I am absolutely in love with all of the QwS line except the Jasmine which is just too stout for my nose.

Personally, I liked the QWS Smoker’s Blend more than Grunt.

I would think that if you like the QWS that you owe it to yourself to try the plain Grunt. It is a daily maintenance staple snuff for me, just good tobacco.

Just got some of this in. To me didn’t really get a coconut scent more like. You remember when your mom filled up a glass jug with water put some teas bags in, and let it sit in the sun for most of the day. Then you take it in and open to pour and boom strong tea scent. Yea that’s what it reminds me of Great Snuff will definatley keep this on hand.

After using this a while, it is one of my favorites. I do feel the nic hit now, a big wave of warmth and contentment.

The older Fubar Grunt contained a subtle yet clear coconut flavor. About 4 months ago the supply chain ran low, and we had to wait for a new shipment, well the newer batch was remarkably different to my nose, no distinct coconut and a slightly off, sour flavor. I have bought from Mr. Snuff, and from Tom, and was not nearly as happy with the later batch. I am glad that I still have a pound of the old stuff. The new batch just needs to air way out, I have added a little WOW coconut toffee to get it back to normal. I talked to Dave when the change happened, and he offered to replace it, I declined and all my other suppliers sent the newer tasting batch. I just prefer the original flavor, but remain loyal to it as a all day snuff. It is an exceptional snuff to me.
