Fribourg & Treyer recommendations: If I like HDT ....

I’ve only tried two of the F&T range, Old Paris and HDT. I like and respect Old Paris, but find it a bit too cloggy for frequent use. It’s more the kind of snuff that I take small doses of in the evening, when I feel like using something other than my stock standards. HDT, on the other hand, falls easily into the “if you were stuck on a desert island with only one snuff” category. In short, I generally prefer fine, dry snuff. I’m just about to put in an order with Mr Snuff and would like to try two new F&T. I’m contemplating Seville, just because the reviews describe it as strong, fine and dry. Anything else in the range that falls into that category?

I say Seville! I have not tried it but, I have a gut feeling saying I need it in my life. Its currently stuck in my cart till I buy it.

Morroco is one of my favourites, fine and dry and a bit different from other snuff flavours (sort of Geranium and spice) so worth a try I think. Been planing to get it out again. They are all worth at least a try but generally very perfumy and none really all day snuff (except HDT). Princess Special is a nice dark course snuff not to overly perfumed . Macouba and Bordeaux I also like and even Bureau and they’re pretty fine but very floral and/or musky. Seville and Morlaix are really love or hate I think. I don’t love them. Still waiting for my taste to change for those. If you just want fine and dry then go for the Seville. Maybe you will be in the love camp or maybe…

After a few bulk orders for my basic snuffs, I’ve put in an order for a big range of small containers of snuffs I haven’t tried. For F&T, I settled on Saville and Dr. Justice, just 25gm tasting portions. Next time I indulge in this sort of whim, I think I’ll go for Macouba and maybe Princes Special or Morroco. I also put in for Bohican, Firedrac and Lundy Foot. All new to me, slowly working my way through my bucket list.

Well ive only tried F&T patchouli flower, its pretty much dead on patchouli smelling. It reminds me of a renaissance or hippy festival. But am interested now in trying some more. It is very fine and a dry powder, I can’t use it straight too much with out something to drink because it is almost like eating perfume. It mixes well with the WOS sandalwood.

Most Patchouli cologne I smell, smells like the Grateful Dead. I didn’t know it was a flower.

I like a lot Patchouli & HDT but also every snuff of F&T is great …

What’s their Kendal Brown like?

@Thunderbird Kendal also is really good one recommended…

Thanks.

I like the F&T range because it doesn’t end up in the back of my throat when sniffing. Contrary to WoS. Maybe because most F&T contains African tobacco?

That’s interesting. I love WoS Best SP. But have to take it very carefully for that very reason.

Excellent choice in FireDrac and Lundy Foot (Haven’t tried Bohica). I actually blend Firedrac with a little Lundy Foot to cool the chilli some and it’s one of my absolute favs. If you try that and don’t love it I will be amazed. Really good kick off it too. Seville unfortunately I find like having musky soap up my nose. That one I’ll be amazed if you like it, given you like the HDT but at least you’ve definitely got some great snuffs on the way.

When I got the Patchouli, I personally didn’t think it smelled like what I thought patchouli was, but I snuffed it and liked the cedary taste it had in my nose. However, I snuffed it once in a group and a friend suddenly exclaimed “Why am I suddenly smelling patchouli?” So I think it’s just me. I like it and will keep on sniffing it. However, it mixes very well with the Bordeaux, I’ve found. Gives the Bordeaux a real woody undertone and cuts the edge off the Bordeaux. Of course everyone had to give me grief for being a filthy hippie after that, so it made for a lot of fun at my expense…

IMHO nothing else in the F&T range is particularly similar to the HDT.

Just to let you know we have a big F&T sale coming up. We ordered a ton of it, got a decent discount and we’ll be passing it along to our fellow snuffers. We’ll be sending out an email blast so I do encourage you to sign up for the newsletter if you are not signed up already. You can do that here: MrSnuff Newsletter

Wow! Thirty percent off! For tax purposes, I have to keep my orders below $50, but at the discount price, I could get 350 grams of HDT and still be within the limit. Deal!

Great deal at MS. I just ordered 50 gr F&T HTD, and Santo Domingo. I like the Seville quite a lot also. I have found that the scent sort of becomes fuller with age. I have a tin of it, over a year old, and it is better now than when it was fresh. I keep it hydrated with lemon peel, which somehow enhances the flavor.

We are now offering Bulk F&T. However while the current offer is running it probably isn’t worthwhile. Just so you know for future reference.

@I_snuff_therefore___‌ Despite the fact that I mostly like plain snuff, I also really do like Seville. Works very well with Viking Dark chasers.
