french cognac

imagine the chutzpah of me starting a post–almost to the day of being allowed. But, i’m here to learn and might be forgiven. i realize that flavors always are in context to the tobacco and all that. why, though, is a most sublime aroma --surely great-- ignored. i’m only a hillbilly from missouri but even i know that the smell of a vsop cognac is very nice. that might be a waste, for sure, as a casing for snuff—but the aroma? can it be had?

Sounds like a good idea to me. Some of the nicest snuffs are infused with spirits. I haven’t had some cognac in some time, but I remember really enjoying it. Brandy is in the same family and Toque Spanish gem has some Spanish brandy component. Try hydrating some Toque Quit or Natural with the cognac and let us know how it turns out.

@bogybill: It will turn out fine. Our Macuba and Prins Regent are flavoured with cognac. Jaap Bes.

You can scent any natural [plain] snuff. No need to get it soaking wet put some liquid in a water bottle cap, place it in a container with a lid surround the cap with snuff let sit overnight with lid on. remove empty cap. keep hydrated snuff in an air tight container. Enjoy

@snuffmiller How did I forget to mention that? (probably several days of lack of sleep keeping my brain foggy) Those are among my favorites! They are really standout snuffs! The cognac really works well with the Virginia base.

When I have cognac I put three or four drops per ten grams of snuff and you know what it’s awesome. Oh yeah also I let it sit over night in a sealed container. It’s also great for a snuff that has dried out too much.

and cognac is great either way.

snuffmiller --as stated in my introduction (to the forum) i’m totally infatuated with your macuba. i’m also going to try your PR on my next order–although–and i say this with all humility–i’m currently prejudiced against citrus. this is probably one of those silly things a newby says and regrets later. everybody seems to love it.

i have tried flavoring some quit with the remnants of bottles of hennessy and courvoisier vs. --and it was pretty good. i guess my question is (and i promise not to kick this dead dog more) is why commercial milners have not tried to use and isolate this iconic flavor more. my guess is that it’s so subtle i.e refined. we are inclined to believe that toque bourbon using elijah craig 18yr distinguishes it from using the other tennessee whiskey or even evan williams—old crow? apologize for carrying this more than intended–and appearing so contrarian–maybe even obtuse.

In heading for my prins regent after reading all these.a great snuff.
