I was quite surprised a few months ago when my 6 yr old daughter came back from school and she was singing this little ditty. I was even more surprised that, given Ontario/Canada’s railing against tobacco, that they would be signing this old ditty about snuffing and smoking good tobacco in her kindergarten class. That said, it seems that folk-songs, no matter the subject, are more important than the lyrics themselves and as tobacco was an important early French-Canadian cultural staple, I can see why it has persisted up to this day. I will post a link to the video she asked me to play and the lyrics in English.
