Who would also would like to see a natural scented Frankincense & Myrhh snuff?

Me.  My suppressed inner pothead is partial to the smell.  There’s also the peaceful vibe of church with that… .  

I’ve been doing a little research on this.  It would end up being very, very expensive just to cover the cost of the essential oils…unless someone has a line on better pricing.

@SeanOCDPx F&T Patchouli covers that pretty well. 

@DireWolf, agreed.  I can smell that patchouli before I open the tin, but once it’s in the nose it smells different to me… earthy… almost like beets or something.  I personally like it a lot - that and French Carotte.  Bummer @chefdaniel.

I encapsulate Frankincense and use it for my cancer fighting protocol . It is very stone like even powdered and I never thought of it used as a snuff mixer.Although I have used Ginseng as a mixer and that is just as rough and has a very earthy appeal.

 If you had a steam distillation set up you could make a hydrosol to scent the powder, but it wouldn’t be as strong as the essential oil.

How much do you think you would need Daniel to make a frankincense & Myrrh snuff? I have a lot of sources for oils and resins as I create Mukhallats/Attars. I’m new to snuff making and am not sure myself yet what would be a good amount

Is French Carotte from WoS and F&T different? Night & Day or similar?

@AlKindiSnuff  That’s a tough call.  I’d need to evaluate the oils first, then do a micro batch to determine yield rates; not all essential oils are created equal, and I don’t use that many of them in my snuff.  I prefer to cook up my own stuff and if needed, add a drop or two of whatever oil, but only if absolutely needed.  Some essential oils can be very irritating to the nasal passages if direct contact is involved; so many are formulated for aromatherapy and other vapor applications that each one has to be examined individually.

I used a camphor essential oil on a test batch a few years ago at an application rate that barely showed up in the formula until I adjusted the spreadsheet to 10 digits to the right of the decimal; something like .0000000012% and it damn near fried my nostrils.  Camphor mixed with steroids and viagra.  I got another from a different vendor and ended up using almost 3%.

I’d love a decent frankincense snuff. We used to burn it all the time to keep the mosquitos away when I was in Oman and it was quite cheap. There were some locally produced laundry detergents with frankincense smell. While I was over there, the Omani government issued a postage stamp with miniscule amounts of frankincense in it (the philatelist in me talking now!).Dunno about the prices over here. I wish I had brought back more. I may have to ask some of my  connections in Oman to send some over.

I would love to try Frankincense & Myrrh Snuff. I do love dholakia’s Sandalwood they used to do.

I will start working on a F&M snuff soon with sandalwood as well as rose

@Mouse I’d love to do a Agarwood/Oud snuff man but would be such a small private stock batch and pretty pricey lol Eden botanicals is a great company as is White Lotus Aromatics and AgarAura.com,Aluwwah.net When I can ($) I get my oils and chips from these vendors^
