As some of you may know a discussion was started a week or two ago about Fribourg & Treyer snuffs and whether the older ones are in fact different than the ones now produced by Wilsons of Sharrow. Well after some searching on Ebay I came across an unopened tin of Morlaix from the 1970s. I put up a bid and what do you know I won it for .99 cents! It’s coming from Liverpool so it’s probably going to take 2 weeks to get to me in the US but I’m so excited to try it. I have a new tin of Morlaix so I will have to compare and report on the differences.

so it cost less then the new? That is depreciation for you.

It will be one of the small sample tubes, not a 1oz/25g tube.

I believe its the same seller I used. I have one here and another on the way. Its a 1 oz tube, although it stands about 1 cm shorter than a modern tube. There was some aluminim corrosion within the first one. I’m not sure I will be snuffing it.

I have a 10 yr old tin of their HDT that is still excellent.
