With my first order of snuff from Mister Snuff, I ordered a plastic bullet. Totally useless device, in my opinion. It was so stiff to turn the knob that I could barely do it using my bare hands and when I did get it to work, it emitted a tiny amount of snuff, about quarter or less of what I’d take in a pinch (as a new user!). So, I stumbled across an ebay ad for an aluminium snuff modicum on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Aluminum-Snuff-Bullet-Nose-Modicum-U-S-Made-/140911194188?pt=LH\_DefaultDomain\_0&hash=item20cef6304c This, at least, is well made. Even so, it still emits a tiny amount of snuff. I wonder if I could take it to a metal worker and get them to enlarge the chamber slightly? I live in Jakarta, there is a market not so far away with a whole bunch of metal workers and jewellers, they might be able to do something. Other than that, I’m expecting an order of Dholakia White to arrive today. Everyone seems to suggest that this is best taken in very small doses, so the bullets may come into their own there. On a brighter note, I found a lovely little pill box in a flea market for $10, seems quite air-tight, shallow, easy to pinch from. I also picked up a tiny little round glass bottle, about the size of a small perfume bottle but with a wide opening. Both seem pretty good for snuff containers, although I haven’t actually used the bottle yet. Same shape and roughly the same size as the pretty little Toque flask/bottle thingy.
Oh, and what about the Toque bullets? Do they also emit a very small dose? Can they be refilled?
I purchased this same bullet from Tom at NicotineRush a long time ago. I used it for awhile, but the force with which one must inhale to get these to work jets the snuff right to the back of the throat and the sinuses. I would imagine that it would work much better with, uh hem, other powders.
I took a metal drill bit and drilled the hole bigger in my bullet myself. You dont need a metal worker. It worked pretty damn good to. I stopped using my bullets a long time ago. I started carrying my bullets around so I could unscrew the back and tap it out on my hand and pinch.
I don’t get on with bullets. I find that no matter how gently I sniff, it goes straight into my throat, I miss the scent and just cough.
I have some bullets & use them occasionally. I purchased mine from a craftsman on eBay. It seems that if inhale too hard my eyeballs feel like popping out from the “hit”. I guess I just prefer the “pinch” method. It’s what I’m most comfortable with.
i find bullets only useful for being discreet and when its really windy. though ive been trying to reduce the amount of snuff i use as a dose, since i heard it should be an apple pip size (my usual dose id say would be 4 each nostril). i found i hardly need to clear nose out using a spoons worth and keeping it in the very front of my nose.

Yes, the bullets from Toque emit a very small dose and yes, they can be refilled.
Bullets are a total waste of time. Get a snuffbox. Stefan

So far, I agree. Or maybe a little flask, like the Toque flask. But the snuff modicums available on eBay would work quite well as little tap out snuff boxes, like @distaind said. I think the thing would work better if the chamber was about three or four times larger, and the airhole was about double. I’m going to have a go at trying to modify them.
@JakartaBoy while agreeing with @Walrus1985 I also feel that there is a place for those 1oz stainless steel flasks. They really are pretty well airtight and keep snuff nice and fresh for a long time. Useful for those who aren’t heavy users or for those snuffs that get occasional use. I have one on my bedside table for that last-thing-at-night, first-thing-in-the-morning indulgence. The downside of course is that they are tricky to take a pinch from.
I like snuffboxes. then I took 2 edwardian sterling boxes to a dinner party. I passed them around. The bigger and better of the two, when I got home, was “sprung” wouldn’t close correctly. Took 3 hours to figure out how to fix it (good as new). Next party no good boxes. they are all both attractive and expensive and reserved for me. will take a brass box and nobody wants to put a bullet that was up my nose up theirs. The only good advice I ever got from my father was “you can pick your nose and you can pick your friends but you can’t pick your friend’s nose” . This tangentially reflects my use of bullets. I have 6 good aluminum bullets. Work great with fine snuffs. Get a small pinch, but nothing is blocked by hair. Goes right into my sinus. A lot easier than finding a place to sit, opening a box, putting a pinch on my hand and shoving my cross pen up my nose.
I’m just too much of a spooner these days, any container large or small, that fits my ladle is fine by me, otherwise boxcar and the occasional pinch. I never use a bullet, I don’t like to be teased, just my preference. Like @distaind said, “I started carrying my bullets around so I could unscrew the back and tap it out on my hand and pinch.” I would most likely do the same with such a device.
I hated all plastic and metal bullets (and I had bought many) until I got a toque mini in one order. It’s a good quality. But with that said, the bullet is not my preferred choice. More of a convenience and size thing. If you’re unscrewing and tapping, I do recommend the Titanium Snuff Vial by Mr. Snuff. It’s pretty nice. The weight is a lot more than the plastic bullet though.
I tried using the bullet as a tap box, but the capacity is pretty small. I think I’m getting over the whole bullet concept. Next order with Mr Snuff, I’ll get a couple of the Snuffhouse plastic boxes, and maybe one of them little flask things from Toque.
I carry my main snuff in my snuffbox and use aluminium bullets to carry some others that are not “All day” snuffs and tap them in the back of hand , this way I can have a selection without the need to carry too many boxes.
