The thing I love about that is pictures back then were relativily expensive. So people took them super seriously, and this woman must have thought of all the things she did and owned the most important to express was her snuffing. Possibly showing off the snuff box.

I should take a b&w shot of myself snuffing with my box…I don’t do any fancy pinching though…I prefer to put my nose directly in the box and sniff. All I have to say is I love how everyone of them except your wife of course, has that I’am doing something naughty and devilish look.

Bob, that is what the ladies say when I’m at a ‘do’ . They say they like it because it feels taboo. Blokes tend to put on more bravado and feel sheepish if they sneeze. I have a little mirror for the ladies so they can check their make-up after snuffing.
