I was thinking about taking some strong liquor, like Everclear, and putting whatever flavors in there. After that, adding it to the tobacco. Seems to me, since Everclear is strong, that most of the liquid would just evaporate, leaving the flavor, and a manageable amount of moisture. Would this work ok, ya think?
There’s only one way to find out…
Are you talking about making a flavouring extract with the alcohol or just mixing it with liquid flavours? If the former, the consensus is that full strength grain alcohol is too effective an extractant. It’s actually best to dilute it half & half with pure water. 151 rum is good too if you want the rum flavour. Yes, the method will work.
There’s a description of how to use liquor in flavouring snuff on the snuff talk website. The method involves placing the snuff in a container in a dish of liquor and letting the evaporation gradually flavour the snuff.
