I have officially lost my snuff virginity. I lost it to an innocently looking tin of Pöschl Gletscher Prise. Holy mother of everything menthol! Don’t get me wrong, but dang … Now the Gletscher name makes sense to me. The stuff is easy to take and perked me right up. If my sinuses were clogged, they’re definitely clear now. This is the beginning of a beautiful relationship.
A few sniffs (and sneezes) later, I think I’ve gotten the hang of this. With all the smoking bans in effect I’m not even going to bother with loading up my pipe for a short break during the day. I’ll just bring along a tin of snuff. Good thing I bought 5 Gletscher and 5 President. Thanks Rob (celticsnuffer) for coaxing me into snuffing.

Congratz!
Your name reminds me of a character called Slartibartfast from the book “The Hitchhiker’s Guide”. Congrats.
I am he Or rather, 15 years ago when I first made an appearance on the, then sorry excuse for the Internet, I took the name Slartibartfast as a nickname … however, IRC and most other chatsystems of the day, didn’t allow for long nicknames, so I shortened it down to slartie … it’s stuck with me ever since.

Wow. Good guess on my part. How many other people pick up on that?

My first snuff ever was Magnet Menthol! That stuff nearly blew me away. To make it better my second snuff was Rooster! After those two I then was smart enough to try Poschle Cherry. Now I love them all!

My first snuff was also gletschepriese. back then they called me The Red Eyed Avenger ROFL
My first ever pinch of snuff was McChrystals O&G. I can barely stand the stuff now.
I think my first ever was probably Top Mill No.1 back in about 1970… I didn’t take to snuff then, but I did when I discovered the various Bernard brands when I was living in Regensburg in the mid 70s. The rest, as they, is history!
My first ever snuff was O&G, and that was only about 5 months ago. Its still my most used snuff, though I have a good collection of others now.
some dean swift during my try any type of tobacco phase or more correctly the begining of my try every type of tobacco phase. It was something fruity I think I bought three that first day and two more the next week. The tins where nicer then with the hole on the side.

I was about 16 or 17 when I bought a tiny tin of Ozona Cherry. I snuffed up a few pinches, but it wasn’t very rewarding at the time. I liked pipes, cigars, cigarettes but the menthol just burned like hell in my nasal passages. Didn’t pick it up again until about 18 months ago. (38 years later) I had read lots on the Yahoo group and was intrigued enough to find some locally: WEG Scotch. After the initial sputtering, coughing and watery eyes, I quickly developed a lot of respect for that one along with an appreciation for the pleasures to come. I still love WEG but now have a nice variety of snuffs from all over. It has become my primary tobacco pleasure, as now I only smoke rarely, but snuff every day.
Stitch I too was a smoker, both cigarettes and a pipe. Now that I have discovered Snuff I no longer smoke. Once in awhile I will have a cigarette for what ever reason and it tastes like shit! I can’t believe that I actually got used to that taste and didn’t mind it. I am much better off now only Snuffing.
When I was sixteen like I said I tried snuff. The main thing I used it for was getting through class without nicing. I’d tap some into a tissue and pretend to be blowing my nose. Though that was untill I got a copy of the key into the theatre and to the roof which was a great place to smoke cigerattes or other things. Don’t get me started on how much fun you could have in the lighting booth.
