Favourite Snuff & Beverage Combos

N

Does anyone have a favourite snuff and drink combo? Maybe you have a different snuff for different drinks, i.e. a beer snuff, liquor snuff, coffee snuff, etc. Or even different snuff for different kinds of beers, liquors, etc. I like earl grey or Bigelow’s Constant Comment (or a good g&t) with my Toque Original. The Natural is good with peaty scotch. Most of my (positive) snuff experience is with Toque, so I’m a bit limited. Do share!

S

I’ve been having a bunch of Sprite lately. For me it goes well with the mentholated snuffs.

R

Karlovačko and Gletscherpriese definetly goes one with another

B

its tea all day. earl grey and tom buck is wonderful.

E

Tea is perfect with any snuff! But being English I suppose I would say that

B

hmm… when i was in england four years ago i got the impression that the glory days of british tea culture are all gone… made me sad to see all the “style” people drinking macciato latte. well… each to its own i guess. on topic: is there a snuff you would recommend as a tea snuff?

E

I think it probably depends on where you are in the UK. Still plenty of tea drinking going on around here! Me, I get through 8 to 12 big (1 pint/500ml) cups a day, if not more. When I lived in Regensburg many years ago I had to have tea and marmite parcels sent over to me… Recommendations for a tea snuff? Lots of possibilities, but I’m on Bernard’s Blau-Weiss at the moment, with others, as the feeling takes me of course.

B

I like a good Bourbon with a pinch of Latakia 1860, Square or Rooster.

You can click on the link and read through a similar topic on an older discussion to see a pretty big list of combinations: What’s your favorite drink to go with your favorite snuff? Here are some I’ve enjoyed over the past month: Toque Espresso & Grappa Any Scotch Snuff & Makers Mark Bourbon Society Sweet & Appleton’s Rum Samuel Gawith Honey & Appleton’s Rum Toque Blueberry & Stoli Blueberry Vodka Toque Natural & Anchor Junipero Gin Latakia A/P & Anchor Junipero Gin Dholakia Manjul & a shot of Cabo Wabo Blanco Tequila (bit of an odd combo but wasn’t bad) Samuel Gawith Black Coffee & Kahlua Toque Chocolate & a nice fortified Port. Levi Garrett & Lapsang Souchong Tea (great breakfast combo)

W

Lately for me its been Toque Original or SP100 with Stone’s Bitter.

Hmmm going to have to try the Latakia AP with Gin seems like a very nice combination. Thanks Trout.

R

Prima Pivo(beer) and gletscherpriese goes weel together too.

T

For those who have a few drinks at the pub, here’s something that can give you a hand when you leave. Or just for the smoker ;~) Antipoleez

R

LOL,Anitpoleez,does that actually work?

B

the name is somehow… …childish. like hiphop slang… still, does it work?

B

mate tastes great. its, imho, closer to black tea than to green tea. the deep emerald colour is a joy to look at. it has a bit of a burned taste to it, which reminds me of korean barley infusions, which i find very agreeable. (this refers to mate i had 2 years ago and i only had 1 variety then. there might be considerable differences between different “mates” ^^)

B

actualy my favorite combo is french carrote and plain water rose snuffs and plain water are also really good and interesting.

I drink tea all day long and most days that is all I drink. I drink green teas - sencha, roasted green, oolong (midway between green and black) and matcha. Matcha (powdered green tea) is my favorite and I drink several bowls of this everyday. From what I’ve read, it’s supposed to have the greatest amount of antioxidants compared to anything else including other varieties of green tea. It prepares very easy which is a plus as well. Bob: what rose snuffs are you talking about? I’ve got and like French Carotte as well as Seville. I mix mine with a bit of WE Garrett to fortify it a bit. I do like these “perfumy” types of snuff once in a while. Any recommendations for more perfume like snuffs like these?

T

Give Dholakia snuffs a try. Kamal is one of my favorite “perfume” type snuffs. Ganga is another one of their perfumed snuffs. Both have the longest lasting scent of any snuff I have ever had, they even make the handkerchief smell nice. Ganga is rose scented and Kamal is rose & musk. proboscis, I also drink about 2 quarts of iced tea every day all year round. Usually china blacks though or the angels dream blend. Occasionally I I’ll use some indian spiced chai for the iced tea or monks blend. Even the yerba matte on occasion, usually the naranja blend. I’m not so much into the greens as I like teas with a good bold flavor but do drink them sometimes.

B

I’ve only tried rose of sharrow and home made rose. Though they really bring out some great flavours in water. my favorite perfume snuff is Santo Damingo great stuff very earthy yet great flower scent.

B

another great combination I just discovered about tweenty minutes ago. Crumbs of comfort (probably any spearmint snuff actualy) and Yunnan Yellow tips. Somehow it really defines the naunces of the tea makeing the flavour aspects drasticly (pleasently though) distinct. I’am going to try it again now.

B

never tried that the spanish jewel that is mint gunpowder is freakin awesome. haven’t had that in a while.

P

troutstroker: I started drinking green teas primarily for their health benefits. I used to drink black teas as well but I tended to take them with milk (or 1/2 and 1/2) and I’ve given up both. I haven’t tried them with a bit of soy milk though, which I do drink on a regular basis. I’m thinking of getting some more lapsang souchong with my next order from Uptontea and seeing how I like that sans milk or maybe with a bit of soy. If you haven’t tried matcha, I encourage you to do so. It’s very strong in flavor compared to a cup of normal green tea. You can add more powder (or less water) depending on how strong and thick you want it to be. Drop some powder in a tea bowl, brew some water, pour the water and whisk the water/tea with a bamboo whisk and its ready to drink. I’ve read about those Indian snuff at this forum and I think I’ll give those a try next. bob: what does your home made rose consist of?

B

did. It was just crapy tobacco (american spirit rolling tobacco) and some great rose oil. It was all I could do at the time to get snuff :(. No where in the town I live sold snuff (the next town over has one store that sells ozano raspberry and strawberry sometimes spearmint. It really wasn’t a good snuff I do however want to try scenting some decent tobacco again soon.

S

Lemonade with aniseed extra. When I was in the UK many years ago I enjoyed a kind of booze, think it was called “Pinch” - served over ice with a lemon peel twist - it was wonderful; do they still make this fine beverage?
