My first and foremost enjoyment is a cigarette. Right now I smoke sonoma red short. They’re cheap, have a great draw, a decent taste, and they provide a decent buzz in the morning.

I used to smoke marlboro red daily but I have changed a few times. My all time favorite cigarette is the now discontinued chesterfield nonfilter.

What sorts of cigs have you guys enjoyed? And if this is taboo please bear with me, this is a new forum for me, cheers

M

I never acquired the cigarette habit. Pipes were my thing, until I discovered the magic of snuff. My wife was a long-time Marlboro smoker, but she quit 30 years ago. I’ve nothing against those who partake, and I did have one on rare occasion back in the day.

C

Marlboro Reds, or, “Cowboy Killers” as they are known in some parts of the U.S.

That said, not a big ciggy smoker.

T

I used to smoke Embassy No.1, back when the age limit to buy was 16. I also liked Park Drive and also RYO, usually Old Holborn Blue, when I was a poor student at University. Still have the occasional roll up now and then but the majority of my nicotine use is now snuff and snus.

P

I’m trying to stop with the cigs for obvious reasons, but my go to would be Drum.

A

Winston Red or Old Holborn Yellow rolling tobacco

A

@Tc2642 I used to be an Old Holborn RYO smoker when I was in university too. Great rolling tobacco

T

I like nonfilters - Camel, Lucky Strike and Pall Mall are all excellent, and actually the budget Eagle 20 nonfilters that are much cheaper than those three are an excellent smoke, much better I’m sure than their filtered varieties. A bit of tongue-burn, but it’s ok and the tobacco smells fresh and slightly grassy and sweet in the pack. Lately as far as filtered varieties I love the American Spirit Black pack, which has Perique in it. I’ve been smoking more lately as I was dipping but it was bothering my stomach to the point where I basically solely chew and use nasal snuff with cigarettes to back that up.

I tried RYO and even got a Powermatic III+ but wasn’t happy with it for some reason. Maybe cheap filters. I got nice Daughters & Ryan tobaccos but most of the reviews I had read about them were from the early 2000s and I’m wondering if the quality took a drop. Most likely tho, it’s the filters - I couldn’t shake the dryer sheet taste. My gf smokes Marlboro Silvers which are good enough.

N

Export A Plain(nonfilter) and it stopped production over a decade ago. Camel Nonfilters are good but not easy to get in Canada.

D

Quit for good years ago, but back in the day particular favorites were: Balkan Sobranie (in the metal tins), G.A. Andron Turkish Specials, English Ovals, and Dunhill Filter Deluxe or Gauloise Blondes.

D

I smoke Maverick menthol. I’ve smoked them for about 12 years but I’ve cut back since I started taking snuff. A pack will last me about 2 weeks now instead of til lunchtime like they used to. Pipes and snuff mostly now.

Before the Mavericks I smoked Marlboro reds for 10 years or so.

S

My favorites, when I smoked, were Peter Stokkebye’s roll your own tobaccos. My favorite was the Norwegian blend, which says American style on the label. I had the Turkish and the London Export also, but I liked the Norwegian the best.

C

American Spirit Black sounds amazing. Might have to buy a pack just to try one!

Not going to start that habit though

T

I think they’re good for a treat smoke, it’s more of a pipe tobacco quality taste. I can smoke them every day but that tends to burn out the flavor quicker. Smoking them less really helps with enjoying the flavor

B

Back in the day Gitanes, Gauloise, the odd Camel. RYO Pueblo with menthol filters.

D

Didn’t know Peter Stokkebye had RYO. I’ll have to look into that.

I really like Break cigarillos from time to time. Tastewise I found it pretty decent, same goes for the price. Usually buy one or two for a midnight treat or some rendez-vous.

A

I still smoke right now trying to quit with snuff just try to find the right one for me as cigarettes get more expensive year after year and im addicted to it, but i enjoy that Gauloise one, if i had the best chance to quit i will as it did notjust broke my health but my overall life, and this snuff is good it just need a chance to get it right and wen you do its for you

T

Anybody had these Dunhill International? I was at the smoke shop and he got these in for a customer I had to get a pack and man it’s probably the best cig I’ve ever had. Like pipe tobacco but still cigarettish

T

Many years ago, a very classy cigarette, they still got the two separate pack dividers on the inside?

T

Yeah they sure do. Fantastic smoke, doesn’t leave a chemical taste at all.

D

Yep. One of my favorites from years ago, when I smoked. I would always be sure to get a carton or two or three when traveling overseas in particular (they always had those at every duty free shop, probably still do I’m sure).

Glad to hear that they are still producing them and they are still top-notch (and that the box still features the divided compartments with separate foil covers, I always loved that little touch – classy!).

N

We have those Dunhill cigs in Canada, pretty similar in taste to most Canadian premium cigarette brands, not as good as Export A imho. I should add that ALL cigarettes in Canada are made with Virginia tobacco and are in seperate foil compartments, we dont use those squarish packs all our packs are long and thin. I can see why Americans would love these cigs most Canadians find American cigs to be disgusting, we are use to our Virginia cigs.

Ever since I tried pipe tobacco, I don’t like any cigarettes. I’ve tried Camel Yellow, Dunhill, Marlboro and they all burn like a match! Loved cigarillos, but smoking them all day is hard. I’m trying to quit smoking and have only snuff and a pipe in my life. So many failed attempts, but one day everything should definitely go well

P.S. I finished this post and bought new 10 packs of Philip Morris Dark Blue just because of the price and the smell of the unopened pack. This is my last pack of cigarettes!

T

I don’t smoke cigarettes anymore but my cigarette of choice would have to be RYO Pueblo, one of better tobaccos for cigarettes in my opinion, with a wonderful natural flavour.

A

@TeabaccoGuy even the light blue one RYO Pueblo scratches/ bites the throat though. I found it a bit harsh or strong when I was smoking it years ago. But it is good.

H

Those were great. I used to get the ryo too.
