So. Being such a noob at this, I have some questions… Does the fineness of the grind determine how hard you huff it back? I seem to have found my sweet spot with my mcchrystals, my new WoS with the same force seemed to go right into my throat. Big ol brown boogies… Blow them out or pick and flick? I can’t decide. Trimmage of the schnozzola-hairs? Helpful or a pain in the ass? Nasal irrigation, anyone do this? The only thing I’m certain of is I like this stuff… And that my ENT is going to lecture me after my surgery next month.
Oh, and is there a trick to opening the bigger cans? I got the WoS and was stoked so I opened it, and a cascade/cloud of brown powder poofed out… But now my car smells heavenly, so that’s something.
I can answer all your questions
*The finer it is, the more gently you want to sniff. Keep experimenting until you get a feel for it. *There is a third option- keep them in altogether. Consider them interior decorating! *Certainly a pain in the face, if nothing else. *Daily hot showers do the trick for me, but occasional saline spray to fight back irritation doesn’t hurt. *Depends on the can. As far as WoS, I gently tap the cans bottom around in a circle, lay it flat, and carefully squeeze the middle part until the lid comes loose… then decant into pretty much any other container, 'cause those tins suck!!! You’re trying to get snuff in the same place, but some are heavier and some are lighter, so you need to vary the power and technique of the insufflation to suit both the snuff and your nose. Not all noses are the same. Blow, unless you specifically want your fingers to look like you’ve been picking your arse I only trim anything that pokes outside I don’t irrigate. I drink plenty of fluids, and let natures own flushing system do the rest. All new WoS cans are the same. Open on a sheet of A4 paper and tip half into a snuffbox or a tin you have already emptied. Tip the splillage back into the tin from the paper. I would never carry a WoS tin that is more than half full, or a Toque tin that is more than 3/4 full. All other snuffs (I only tend to use English) are taken and used from snuffboxes or reused Toque cans
