Just thought it would be nice to put some faces to the screen names of this forum. I know some people have already posted pictures here and there of themselves but thought it would be cool to have them all in one thread… [align=center]Me 5 minutes ago… Me and my wife dressed up for a Haloween party…
My wife and Children Nathan 3 & Tyler 5
I took this after spending the weekend in the woods. This was by request of my mother.
Here is a picture of me with the buck I got this year on the ranch. And a pic of me striking a pose sporting one of my Makers Mark shirts at one of the local lakes. We went to our cabin for a week and spent the time going on hikes & going fishing. This is a pic of one of my younger brothers and I getting ready for a game of disc golf about 2 years ago at the local ski resort. And another hiking trip to another local lake. This was about 3 years ago.
Random shots. Pay no mind to my ex in the one photo. She’s somewhat of an attention whore.
Is your ex the one with the horns or the one with the beard??? LOL J/K.
@ lofat, Dillon Beach is a nice place. I have been up that way a few times.
@ TheLong, love the look, and the collectors cabinet with nothing in it!!! LOL Looks like a good cabinet to display snuff in?
@TS well, that’s where I keep my can of comet now; haha. It’s in the bathroom. For some reason it hasn’t struck me as a likely place to be astorin’ me snuff.
My Daughter, Ava…
My Wife and I at P.F. Chang’s
This was taken the night we got engaged.
here is a pic of one of my tats going to try and find a good pic of me too use too.
Alright merdock69, so which photoshop program are you using to make your kid smile so big? LOL Very Cute.
cute cat
So ausmike, my speculation of you being like Kramer was spot on!
O.k. second most recent pic of me the other I will post up here cause it’s got me snuffing. Though if you look closely you can see the snus in my upper lip.
Oh Spongebob!! You know those dandelions to the right make a good salad!
Not these ones. Though not far from there are where some great dandelions. Though elk makes some much better eating. Just waiting on some elk to finish cooking.
Yes, Elk. mmmmmmmmmm. I had an elk roast over the holidays. And one roast left in the freezer. But of course I enjoy most wild game. The dandelions around here are real good, especially when young. We’ve got a lot of natural greens that are edible. Really like the miners lettuce. And the dandelion flowers are pretty good. Have you ever tried Dandelion Wine?
No I have not, which seems strange since it’s a staple around here for the low budget alchool ethusiasts (also the under aged). Though I keep meaning to start makeing wines as I think I could pull off a few that would be a minimal drinkable.
This place is a sausage fest. We need some chicks up in this joint!
I think there are some ladies on this list but they are probably afraid of being overly disgustingly adored by all the maleness on this list. At least that is what I think on the subject.
Glad so many here have decided to participate. It’s nice having a face to go along with the screen name. Almost everybody looks different than I would have imagined judging by screen-names alone. Many of you live in some very beuatiful parts of the world. We are also a much younger looking group than I had figured us for…
@troutstroker, that’s all Lori’s influence there… She was up at 6:00am with her camera phone for close to a half hour trying to get that photo. BTW, we’ve got your ladybug pic hanging over our rocking chair in her bedroom.
Thats great. Glad your enjoying it. Lori’s waiting game paid off. I know that it can take patience to get the right shot.
@troutstroker - Like that first shot of you, is that a Remington .243 there with you? It’s got an awfully short barrel…
One of me and the wife. And the kids.
I suppose I’ll participate.
Wow onefortheroad, it’s uncanny how much your son looks like you and your daughter looks like the wife… Sometimes I look at my kids and wonder which one was the mailmans ,lol…
I agree about the goatee. actualy. So you work at Whole Foods whats up with that??? I don’t know too much about the company.
Here is a psychedelic pic of a few years back.
Good music chas. I love banjo, as bluegrass, folk and old time country are some of my favorite music.
I’ll be checking the Avett Brothers and “Red Fox and the Standard Ox” out tomorrow. Anyone here like the Hangdogs, Flying Burrito Brothers, or Scott Miller and the Commonwealth?
Really enjoyable Chas.
as far as snuffers with nose jewelery I always make sure what ever I’am wearing in my septum is easily removed for cleaning.
@chas, yes I have heard of The Avett Brothers. I guess it was around 3 years ago I heard them on Sirius Radio. They were on there pushing their new album. I think it was Magnonette? On the new albulm Emotionalism I like: Pretty girl from Chile, In the Curve, Go to Sleep & Tales of Coming News. To me, The Avett Brothers have a style like The Pogues mixed with Bob Dylan. The Pogues and The Dubliners are another good band. Though they are more celtic. The Dubliners version of Whiskey in the Jar is one I listen to a lot.
Some of the older ones I like: Ralph Stanley, Marty Robbins, Buck Owens, Ernest Tubb, Tennessee Ernie Ford, Hank Snow, Hoyt Axton, Woodie Guthrie, Tex Ritter. Flatt & Scruggs & Foggy Mountain Boys, Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder. And of course ones like Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Dave Dudley, all the cast of the Highwaymen, Hank Williams Sr. & Jr., Waylon Jennings. I’m not a fan of new country because it seems like they took the country out of it. ‘O Brother, Where Art Thou’ had some good music in it.
New country in my opinion is basicly just pop music. If you listen closely the note choices and composition is nearly identical to some teeny bopper garbage except for the tempo and instrumentation (though not even that is much diffrent) basicly it doesn’t have really dirt in it anymore. Yes O brother did have a good soundtrack.
@troutsroker - You should check out our local station KHYI 95.3 FM online http://www.warpradio.com/Tuner.asp?id=9455
@ bob, one of my favorites Ralph Stanley did one of the songs on O Brother, the O Death song & Angel Band song @ chas, you might find this interesting. Good ol’ Ralph Stanley giving his tips on how to “clawhammer” the banjo. How to Clawhammer And a classic clip of Classic Ralph Stanley picking away on the banjo One of my favorites
@ lofat and Bob I’ve got a 10 gage through my septum, and an 8 in the center of my tongue, and 3 16’s in a triangle pattern around the 8 One in front, one on either side. Been a hair farmer for 10 years now, was my last haircut.
@ lofat, I like the video of “Streets Of Bakersfield” with Dwight Yoakam & Buck Owens. And unfortunately, Buck Owens passed away in 2006. And I still enjoy Travis Tritt.
This photo was taken in July in Wroclaw where Lob19 organized a snuff meeting for Forum.tbx users. 1) From the left: me (Tabacznik), Filek, Lob19 and Grabarz (who is not Snuffhouse.org member). 2) Filek and our snuffs.
Tabacznik - Great photos, once again I had you guys pegged as much older. It’s good to see that our hobby which is an old practice, is used by so many younger people. It is my belief that is the reason as we get older we will really see snuff taking close the gap with smokers and oral snuff users.
Nice photos and collection of snuffs Tabacznik…your photos make me feel old. Hehehehe.
Thank You too for coming, Filek! Generally, snuff meetings are great things. You can explore new places (I’ve never been to Wroclaw before), meet new interesting people (all of You) and of course try new snuffs! Maybe one day we arrange a Snuffhouse members meeting! Well, men, Europe or USA? See You.
With the expression on your face alone & the crazed look in your eyes you can tell you had a bad day, not to mention the mud caked boots & dirty uniform.
This pic was taken 3 days ago during the Opening dinner of a new Oriental/Japanese Restaurant at my town…CHEERS TO YOU ALL
This photo was taken in 02.2007r.
Nice looking snuff box, wel.
For some reason I thought Macalpe and OmegaPad where much younger. Strange.
@macalpe: What brand is that beer you are holding in your hand? When I was in Santiago de Compostel I tried Galicia Estrella and that was pretty good. Do you have any good beers down in south either? Btw. nobody really showed us what is that famous siesta. We checked few bars and pubs between 12pm and 3pm and all of them were empty and then the same thing in Bilbao.
Hello to you all, xsys, the beer I hade in my hands is a “Cruzcampo”, is a very good lager from this town. Is a very old brand. More or less ten years ago was bought by Heinekken Group…but still have the same old recipe.
@macalpe: Thank. As soon as I have the opportunity I’ll try.
Bit late to this, but this is me and one of my daughters (you only need to see one as they are twins!) taken yesterday on a very mild January late afternoon. Snuff not pictured, but you know its there…
Being a pretty new member it seemed like a good idea to add to this one. I’ve picked a pic of both my wife and myself as she’s decided she really rather keen on Kendal Brown, to the extent that I’m now buying her her own snuff box for it!
Not many people like my theory about how snuff will be the next “Cristal” of the Hip-Hop world. Though Barnes may like this theory. Oh yeah and the apricot is a great snuff personaly enjoying the cola right now. Probably two of my favorites of the poschl line (president and Cheif Bull are my other too)
me.
@ betonente: Know what? I thought the scene in the background looks very German. So I looked at your psotings and found your introducing one where you say you’re from Germany indeed. Greetings from Limburg an der Lahn! Your username made me think it’s French in the beginning. By the way: the snuffbox in your mouth looks weird.
i am near bremen. well… presently i am not ^^ thats a wonderful no-name apple-shape pipe i bought 6 years ago and which smokes wonderfully smooth. a very nice composition of understatement and functionality. only because you asked. and since you reminded me… i did not have a pipe for a month or so. think i will light up some early morning pipeweed today. for a snuff box i use poeschls alpenmotiv box with the super ugly (i hate moutains…) motive removed and individual motives carved in.
Pushing my one year old Zach in the snow today, with Pip the dog.
Snuff in the snow!
My wife Julia and our four year old Toby. There’s more photos of Surrey’s surprise snow storm here, so I won’t bore you with too many on this post!
Hi lofat, Yeah I do seem to be a bit on the large side when it comes to my ‘pinch’ size…! I did a similar photo the other week with some home made snuff - trouble was, it turned out similar to High Dry Toast and nearly blew my head off!
Instead giving you photos,i present to you: Me snuffing: http://youtube.com/watch?v=GHuPkgpq0iw http://youtube.com/watch?v=b93qjg5GCMM http://youtube.com/watch?v=Z8wrqYRpvV4
here we go. One with my pride and joy, and one in my vineyard just before the icewine harvest.
Roam nice videos… Similar sized line of snuff as in my photo! nightcap nice pictures… I suppose our meager few inches of snow is nothing like what you get over in Canada!
what is the name of the ice wine and can I buy some at some point???
it depaends where you are
www.huffestates.com this is the winery where I manage the ice wine vineyard. there is nothing on the site about the vineyard because I don’t have Tits and blonde hair. But we are in the LCBO. We do a very special blend called " first frost" This is where half the vineyard is harvested in october and fermented dry. The other half is left until fronzen ( treated as if ice wine), where the berries are frozen. Harvested, pressed, and the the ice juice is added to the original fermenteation from the first field. Creating a late harvest wine with original sugars and natural flavours. I am very proud of this blend.
is that a nightcap you are wearing?
Yeah that type of canadian winter hat has 2 different spellings “Tuque” & “Toque” and “Touque” is another name for a beanie in Canada. But this is the Toque I like. Notched area on top to hold a taco, beer or a bullet. And plenty of room above the head to carry a few tins of Toque under your Toque.
@troutstroker: looks like a korean confucian mourning cap…
aimed at nightcap and a whisperer in my state ordering alchool is very legal you have to order it to the state stores. Though a lot of times when I’ve wanted to order an exotic liqour they’ve been able to get it from one of their many suppliers and I’ve not even had to pay shipping or any additional fees. My chillian friend was able to get some of his more favored Piscos (basicly an unaged brandy, suprisingly good stuff actualy)
Me in the suit.
And here is the Viking
Viking, I like the chimney you have coming out your head. Does that extract the snuff? lol. Here’s 2 photos of Snuff Head.
The second picture makes you like like Mr. Mackey, the Counselor from South Park. He has a balloon head on a skinny body.
*lol* Yes! The chimney effectively replaces the polka dot hankie :o))
ha ha Snuff Head what’s up with your parrot? It looked kind of snuffed? :o))
Lol. keep em coming
I know a doubermen named vok who was the sweetest dog and also an amazing coward. Awesome dog just didn’t fit the breed profile at all. First time I met him he walked up to me and leaned his head on me and gave me puppy dog eyes while his tail stub wagged. Cute dog though looks really sharp too.
“That’s crazy, a friendly guard dog.” Actually, doubermen are very friendly dogs. While they can be protective of their owners, they are generally not as intimidating as Hollywood would have you believe. I don’t know this for certain, but I’ve heard it said that miniature doubermen are actually the original size that were bred. They were mainly used as house alarms because they were so yappy. They were later bred to be larger in hopes that they would be good guard/attack dogs. Either way, they are outstanding family dogs and they are great with kids.
they’re typicaly wary of strangers and not to friendly to new people they aren’t acquanted with. yeah the little ones where the orginal.
My first day and photos! I guess I’m pretty Committed to the community.
New to the site and thought I should intro myself. Name is John (Tat) new to snuff also and finding it quite enjoyable! Sampling many flavors hoping to find a few favorites. Found one great thing so far is the boost of scent when riding my motorcycle, very nice. One down side is the snuff clings like hell to mustache wax, but I’ll become neater with time I hope! Still enjoy my pipe and cigars and happily I seen to have found another treat since work and public spaces are so anti smoke. Look forward to reading on and contributing. Tat
Welcome to the forum tat, yeah I’d imagine mustache wax would cause a problem when snuffing!
Welcome tat, I had to look twice at your photo to make sure it wasn’t me!!
Hello Tat! Welcome to the forum! Great to see a new member!
This is a picture of me at a wedding last year (please forgive the stupid grin, the half-empty wine glass in front of me was one of many that day!!)
Lazarus! Lazarus! I can’t just say it once. Very interesting knot there Lazarus. Yes, what is it? That is a big win glass.
Sadly the tie was a clip-on so I have no idea what knot it was!! Lol :o) I hired the wedding gear (you can’t see it in the photo but I actually had a kilt on)
Thanks all, now Snuffster we’ll need to see your pic!
Yeah Ill get round to it at some point but for now if you think of a red neck with tattoos, no hair and a beard you’ll get there. I also have the same…stature as your goodself!
Voila…
Whoa snuffter great photo and attitude. What are your tattoos?
Thankyou ma’am. A chinese dragon, a cross, two pieces of tribal and a panther.
Welcome all new ones who i haven’t! Snuffster, you and tat should organize a biker snuff guild… Traveling around with your bikes and spreading the wor…the taste of snuff
Snuffster, I see what you mean, Scottish and German background? You have some catching up in the ink dept.
Snuffster, you look like a buddy I went through my apprenticeship with. I’d almost swear you two were related.
Hi Guys tat - Irish but originally it would have been Scotland, my inks’ been growing very slowly for 20 years, but it will rival yours one day!
Snuffster, wish you fun in the ink collecting, I’m almost covered and slowing down due to space, get one when I travel. Have a question to ask the group… I’m finding myself grabbing snuff whenever i wake in the night (which has always been often), any harm in sleeping with a nose full? How often should one clean out the schnoz and does it ever get really clean?
My buddy is Irish as well. His name is Aaron McKitrick (sp?). Ring a bell by any chance?
Personally Tat I clean my nose out once a day, usually in the evening. Some people use a saline (salt water) solution to clean their nose but frankly I just blow it first then dig out any excess with my finger, gross but effective!
tat - I don’t think theres any problem sleeping with snuff in your nose, and if you take it in the night, well better a pinch of snuff than a cigarette. I do exactly the same by the way. Satyr - My surname is McCarren. I don’t know your buddy but we come from a small gene pool - no doubt he’s a cousin 20 times removed and my great great great granfather rustled his pigs!
Thanks for the advise guys, I do like to snuff a bit through the night and was trying gwaith and hoggarth whisky last night and did find the nicotine to be a bit more than the wilsons I’ve started with. No problem though. I haven’t been cleaning the nose out that often and I seem to like the feeling of having the snuff in there so I guess I’ll just go with it. Took some Mc crystal’s mild lemon to work today for a first try and had to waste some for entertainment. The red box was on my desk and a co-worker asked if he could have a piece of gum. I said sure just open the box and shake it out, he did make a mess and got a few laughs from others. So far I like all I’ve tried except the Wilsons SP 100 (not bad, just not special). In the next couple of days I’ll try the Ozona spearmint and raspberry. Have a good one.
Haha, I couldn’t think of a better box to suprise someone with, it’s a beast! For me it is always “careful, careful… ooops”
You look pretty relaxed there Matt!
I was sitting in a rocking chair aboard a steam boat. It doesnt get much more relaxing than going 6-8 mph down a big ole lazy river.
What are you reading?
Huckleberry Finn ?
LOL
actually, it was a portable mark twain reader so huck finn is likely.
so are you the one in blue or the one it red??? Just kidding around.
He’s the big blue one, Bob, like he said! Nice pics everybody!
“The one in the red has the snuff around her nose ;^)” I thought the same thing. lol
I should have taken a pic when my mustache could have eaten yours oh well, either way love the waxed mustache thing a lot.
That is an older pic it is much thicker now.
I’ll get on board here and post a couple pictures.
ahhhhhh, she has your sideburns.
I’ve got a cat that I give the canned Fancy Feast on occasion as a treat. Its only on occasion because if I gave it FF on a regular basis, the cat would get spoiled and never touch anything else as it gets dry food the rest of time as it loves FF like it was a good drug & the cat was an addict. Any time I open a can of something that makes the same noise as opening a fancy feast, the cat comes running and starts meowing at my feet while looking up at me. It makes it hard to walk because the cats not paying attention & starts walking under my feet as I walk. It gets a stocking full at Xmas time. You can see my pets HERE on comment #50
Taken few moths ago
moneymanmike I saw there is a club for guys with handlebar mustaches, have you seen it?
Enjoying a FINE Montecristo! Tom NicotineRush.com
Enjoying a clove cigarette. =] ~Snuffy
Whoa thats some big glass of beer…
Ah yes… I remember those. In fact I’ve got some stoneware ones that size that I brought back from Regensburg many years ago
Me, my beautiful girlfriend, and all of us (my 9 year old), hiking.
bryan, That pic of you guys hiking looks just like an area just up the hwy. here around the 8500-9000 ft. elevation.
I’m more of a lurker here than anything, but I cannot resist a chance to toss my ugly mug up! ~Xobe
Hahhaha,nice beard Xobe!
good impersination for sure.
Xobe - You are Tommy Chong
Here is me.
One more time
A fine figure of a man!
She is beautiful Bryan, you are a lucky man
I was looking through some old threads tonight when I saw this one. I couldn’t help but add to it. Here’s me and my cat Charlie and Me and my wife, Eve
Whoa that cat is HUGE - what do you feed it? Buckets of lard? lol
Wonder if it’s really a cat? :o)
He’s not THAT big!!! OK maybe he is, but he’s very sensitive about his weight, so don’t let him know he’s fat. It might hurt his feelings.
He really is a big old boy and makes mine look like a new kitten. I would guess he drinks a lot of beer and likes a burger or two. Probably best if he doesn’t join the site if he’s sensitive about it all. I suppose he claims to have a slow metabolism and only eats like normal folk…typical fat guy.
@ Snuffster: LOL
I just thought I would share this with you guys. Many of you have seen pics of my cat Pita. About 2 weeks ago he came to the door so I let him in & he wasn’t using his right rear leg at all & had a little blood running down his leg. I took him to the vet & the vet found a puncture wound & we thought he must have got in a good fight or something. So we put him on some antibiotics & pain meds. After about 2 days he still wasn’t using it so out of curiosity I ran my metal detector over the cat and the detector went off. Immediately I knew he had been shot. Took him back to vet & had xrays taken. Sure enough there was a BB in his hip joint. The cat was supposed to have surgery if the leg didn’t get any better & only then because the surgery is risky because the bb is very close to the siatic nerve. Luckily the cat has started using his leg again lightly & hopefully will continue to improve some. But again he will always have a limp even with surgery. It obvious who did it as I only have 2 neighbors luckily I can’t see either one, one is a retired couple in their 80’s & the other is a guy in his 50’s who I always hear shooting a bb gun at the deer to scare them away. I had a talk with him & he swears he didn’t try to hit the cat, he was just shooting close to it to scare it away because he said it was fighting with his cat. I showed him the cat & he swears thats not the cat he shot at. Even if it was an accident I’m not satisfied as he hasn’t offered to pay or even help pay. So now I’m at war with the neighbor. Maybe he will crawl into bed only to find a rattlesnake in there waiting for him or a brown recluse in his boots. Maybe some fulminate of mercury under the leg of his chair. Now back in the end of September I won a pet photo contest in the cat category through our local newspaper so now they are doing a story on this.
Damn, sorry to hear about your cat. Yeah…I wouldn’t know what to do there either, I know you gotta be steaming! Jeez, that kind of crap pisses me off and it’s not even my cat! He was shooting at cats, but that’s not the one, to sit there with a straight face and tell you that. Unbelievable.
I hate people that would do that to a cat. I must point out that cats are far more evolved and decent then anyone that would do that to a cat. Where would one get mercury fulminate even??? Tell your cat I hope he’s feeling better and hope that the people that did this things get the same thing happening to them.
On behalf of Namrata: * picture removed *
Thanks for the support, Pita and I appreciate it.
Thanks, but I was going to use well aged durian fruit instead of poop.
Are you remote enough to get away with murdering your neighbour? Sounds like what the asshole needs. Please give Pita a tickle on the ears from cat loving uncle snuffster.
No. The great thing about mob violence is that you only have to be half sure that the culprit did the deed before burning them out, murdering them etc. Such an easier burden of proof than required in official proceedings… I’ll bring the tar.
Thought I’d throw another in. This is Myself @ a great beach here called Little Bluff in Prince Edward County. Nose full of St. Clements.
Troutstroker, I’m sorry to hear the story of your cat, I’m a cat lover and myself, the thoughts. The *****************. Nightcap, that is a good photo, but would have been even better if focus was on you instead of the background leaves in the foliage. I guess it was a small lens aperture so the back ground would have took care of itself. Sorry I should be talking snuff on here, so nice to see you. Alex, Hi thanks for posting the photo of Namrata, she looks sweeter then I ever imagined. I’m surprised that now one so far has commented. I think of Namrata as I sniff my Ganga.
Yes snuffster, I’m definitely remote enough and there are plenty of abandoned gold mines around. And I know without a doubt that this guy did it. As I said, I only have 2 neighbors. One of them doesn’t own a bb gun & they have 2 small dogs so my cat has no reason to go over there. There are more houses around the neighborhood but they are summer vacation homes/cabins & none were occupied the day this happened. The closest ones are around 600-1000 yards, so roughly 1/2 mile on avg. I’d like to put a garden hose up his butt then push barbed wire up the garden hose then remove the garden hose leaving behind the barbed wire. Then tie the other end of wire to a fence & leave him tethered there for the coyote’s or mountain lion.
Or I could send some of London’s underworld over? They can do incredible things with power drills.
Wow, that’s a disturbingly well thought out torture scenario, Troutstroker!
Or I could send my mom over to talk his ear off. After that he’ll be begging for a garden hose with barbed wire suprise.
Just for the record… I’m a hardcore animal lover. I do respect hunting for the right reasons but give an asshole a gun; i.e., one who doesn’t respect life, and see what happens. TS, whatever you do I hope you make the culprit’s life miserable in some way, and I hope your cat’s OK.
Surely you don’t mean me, 'cause if anything, I’m valorous (most of the time).
I’m an animal lover too & hate the thought of any animal being shot for sport (unless it’s for food) and what your neighbour did is evil However I think it would be best to stop talking about murdering your neighbour even though I know you are only messing around :o)
Any updates on your cat’s health Troutstroker?
No, lets continue talking about murdering him, its much more fun.
snuffdog, no real updates on his health. Still limping on his leg, sleeping more than usual & the cat & I are getting tired of forcing the pills down his throat, so much so that he actually started growling at me when he realized it was time for another pill. And with vet visits, xrays & medications its really starting to drain the pockets. But he’s worth every penny it takes to get him through this. Roderick, great suggestion. Wish I knew someone close by with a newborn baby because dirty diapers set a flame would be great projectiles as well. Maybe some gathered roadkill would make great decoration for his yard. ejacerooni, there are a few markets in San Francisco that actually sell durian fruit, you can get anything there. I actually have family in Riverside.
Troutstroker - They’re not from a newborn anymore, but I could certainly harvest you some dirty baby diapers. Do you prefer tomato or avacado? Peach provides a good punch too…
Nice pics Big D - what kind of music does your band play?
Here is me and my 3 year old boy…
awesome your boy looks very happy. Smart looking tyke too. Cute shoes as well. Love how proud you look too.
ok, gonna try and upload a photo of myself here. This was taken recently when visiting my girlfriend’s historic cemetery. Sadly, they built townhomes on most of it including infants and confederate soldiers.
I think we are being abducted and cloned by aliens with an interest in snuff. Just check backwards over the preceeding 8 pages of this thread… Which town do you live in midnight?
Thought it was London, I’m out East.
My daughter is 28… Still a diamond though!
Quiet the cutie you have there midknight. I bet your proud. I got two boys myself, 9 and 14.
OK a self portrait taken today…
You can’t even see the scar from putting your brain back in.
Elegance personified
OK boys, I can take it. You could have mentioned I have snuff around my nose. snuffster many thanks, lol!
Isn’t that normal, Snuff Head? I didn’t even notice it! When I see a man without snuff in his mustache I wonder if something is awry LOL Are you and moneymanmike in the International Handlebars Mustache Association?
I’m thinking of going horizontal, the vertical bends when I sneeze!
Sorry to dredge up old posts. But I while reading this thread I noticed that some of my fellow snuffers also share some of my musical tastes. Chas and merdock69 mentioned The Avett Brothers and Scott Miller–two of my favorite bands/artists. In fact, I just saw the Avetts this past Saturday in Asheville, NC. I saw Miller a couple of weeks ago, too. Right on guys.
Musical tastes ? are there any heavy metal fans in the forum?
sorry if we can not discuss this kind of subject in the forum
Sure you can discuss it, but for long ones people start OT discussions. Im a heavy fan, from old school to Nu-metal. Recently I’ve seen Linkin Park, Evanescence, Motorhead, System of a down, Serje and his solo band, Lost Prophets, Seether, to name a few. Whilst he’s not HM, Ive got tickets for Clapton in May as I’m a big guitar fan and play in bands as well, not working musically at the moment but may change that in the new year. I play a blues influenced heavy lead style on a strat going through Marshall gear. There’s quite a few guitar players here.
Yes i tried to play guitar when i was a kid but i discovered that i was bor to be only a fan not a musician !! hehe Motorhead!! i saw them at Brazilian Monster of Rock in 1996 and one of the best concerts ive ever had man!! Love metal (from old school to grindcore and black metal ) but i like the classic bands too , Cream , grandfunk , blue oyster cult, and my all time favorites Black Sabbath!! Headbanger Forever!!! (i would like to listen your music snuffster) Thanks!!
I too am a guitar player. Well…I play guitar, bass, drums, piano and I sing (scream/growl…ETC). I also program electronic drums and techno music. I was the singer of a death metal band for a while, but now just work on music on my own. ~Snuffy
Love death metal but i guess i am getting to old … ( i used to be a die hard death/black metal fan such napalm detah, morbid angel and marduk) but right now i listen more classic and prog bands. Porcupine tree is one of the finest!!!
Sabbath are cool, for a man with fucked up fingertips Tony Iommi is one hell of a player. Why don’t you have another go at the geet, ap? Can’t imagine not playing…and who says you have to be any good to have fun!
I’ll always love sabbath. Seriously Sabbath is the only band I’ve continuly liked as much since I was eleven years old. Fuck I still like Iron Maiden but I could live without still dig them when I hear them. But sabbath I think I’ll be ninety years old and still dig. the only other musicians I can think of that I’ve liked as much since day one might be miles davis.
And this viking has been playing the most wicked New Order bass since 1982 :o)
i guess for me is to late snuffster but i will always love a good guitar sound !!!
never too late. Music is just awesome. “New Order” bass??? What do you mean. like you cover New Order a lot your bass looks like one played by a memeber of new order, or are you a memeber? Ah too confusing!!!
You are right, its never too late. In fact I would love to learn a new instrument for the fun of it, probably keys.
Definatly and as I always say with art it isn’t like you have to be good to enjoy it or get anything out of it. Hell if you have fun that rocks. And is really all that is important. However please be kind to your neighbors. I’ve lived next too way too many assholes that can’t play worth shit who blast their guitar playing, never anyone who could play no. I guess what I’am saying is don’t buy a stack untill you can get gigs.
Hehe yes man but i have kind neighbors so i think i will gonna try once more
This is my grandbaby and myself.
OMG that photo is Great!! Shes a cutie. You…not so cute.
LOL Nope, not me.
it’s early still having coffee and sychodelix I read your post a bit wrong, at first I read grand daddy not grand baby. When I looked at the pic I thought isn’t she a little young to be typing??? Just thought I’d share.
o.O Yeah, she’s smart, but she can’t quite type yet.
it had me concerned.
shes a little babe sycho! and your girl is stunning john…
My girlfriend and I this past Christmas.
nice pic cstokes4, and thanks for the compiments snuffster.
It may just be me, but I think this should be a sticky thread. It’s nice to see who we’re talking to here.
I’d show you guys what I look like, and even the old Garrett Snuff Mill if I knew how to get the images onto this website. Other than that I doubt I have much of interest for you to see. At least not until I amass a sizeable snuff collection!
Just hit the “attachments” button on the bottom of the reply box. It’s just like sending an attachment through email.
okay dokay This is me
In lieu of my wife, who wishes to remain anonymous:
and my baby:
nice kid, hope she looks more like you than your wife
She looks better than me when she’s clean and brushed as in the second picture. Nicer hair than me, like my wife. But she does have my beard
lmao!!
Me in Milan, Italy, summer 2007.
Heheh
Hey Roam, Looks like you guys were up to mischief! Getting ready to burn something? The furniture? lol
the hippo seems to be enjoying it
@sprangalang:It was the last day of High School.
HEY!!! THATS MY WIFE YOU’RE BOINKIN THERE DAMIT!!! be gentle
Snuffson: LOFL!!!, good point!
a few more of me 1st one: our favorite free time activity besides soccer : beer
you enjoying that snuff box?
Rush is pretty awesome. I don’t have any Rush shirts anymore as somehow they seem to get destroyed from over wearing. So most rush fans play an instrument which one is your weapon of choice???
toffenose you aren’t related to angelo from fishbone by any chance??? Love the hair. Oh and to everyone else you included dig the hats. I should get some pics of me with a hat.
Well, I guess it’s time to add another. AHH. A good glass of wine and a pipe.
Cool hat Toffeenose. I wish hats would come back into mainstream fashion. I had the good fortune to see Rush in concert for their 30 year tour a while back. It was an awesome performance, non-stop classics for well over three hours.
Aha! Toffeenose, I always thought that was you in your icon, not quite showing taking a pinch. So what’s that picture? Barcelona is a great city, I hear. I hope you had fun there. No newer pics from me. Hair is greyer than the last one.
HumboldtSnuff, you can get some cool snuff shirts here. Shirt Toque Shirt And here, click on sales shop then clothes. BREEZE GmbH
Pic of myself in the account here… Long live hats (and snuff of course!!)
@ Xander I think this is the picture toffeenose cut he icon from. It’s called “Ladies Taking Snuff”
yes, i’m familiar with that picture. I’m suprised I never made the connection.
@Snuff Head: jusgind by faces of some of the ladies,i’d rather say witches. LOL
yeah, only the lady in front seems to be enjoying it
Humboldt said “The Carson Mansion, millionaires club and my former place of employment” I feel a Caddyshack moment coming on LOL. Nice diggs!
I’m pretty sure I see a gopher hiding in the bushes.
Greeting From Wyoming!!! Ibild Chiming in!!!
Welcome ibild. Did Norman Rockwell pay you to stand still for that?
Welcome to the forums Ibild! Great intro btw
Come on new folks, get your photos on here…
Which includes Roderick and Alex…
alex and roderick both can’t have their pictures on here because everyone would figure out the truth that roderick is santa claus (why do you think he has elves making his snuffs) and alex is actualy a house cat who had experimental super smart drugs tested on him. At least this is what I will believe untill proven otherwise!!!
here is me taken quite awhile ago…like a year or something.
You look to be contemplating the meaning of life there.
42
Bob, you know I was thinking pretty much the same thing…
agreed. 42.
Nice! 42 indeed.
First attempt to add a picture, we’ll see if this works.
It’s good pic. Don’t fall off!
What’s “42”?
Why of course, it’s the answer to everything!! 42
thanks for that link sneezewort, I didn’t know about the puzzle book or that some calculators are programmed with “42” as an answer. Douglas Adams would have gotten a big kick out of that if he were alive.
Me in a field after rabbits. My portable Tom Buck flask.
What are you using there to shoot the bunnies? I prefer squirrel hunting, but rabbit hunting is my second choice.
I prefer hunting for hedgerow berries. You rarely need a gun for those, although a chainsaw would make life easier.
_What are you using there to shoot the bunnies?_It’s a Weihrauch HW80k in .22 - in other words, an old-fashioned, massively heavy German springer. In the snuff pic you can see the join where I stuck the back end of the stock back on - I bought it from a bloke who’d shortened it for his grandson but the boy’d decided that he liked nice, modern guns better (and if the kid wasn’t an Olympic-class weightlifter, I think I probably sympathise with him…). I’ve got a blog going about hunting with it at http://austeritygrub.blogspot.com/
I prefer hunting girls, no gun needed and much more fun.
And where is your picture, Pieter?
LOL! I think he is too!
‘His beard alone has experienced more than a lesser man’s body’ LOL! That’s Pieter to a tee!
here is something interesting about him when he drinks beer why does he prefer dos equis??? was his tongue damaged in an accident???
I like Dos Equis. It’s decent compared to many other brews.
Ladies and gentlemen, I appreciate the compliments but would rather not spoil your fun by posting a photo. Ask Debbie, she wil tell you it’s not worth the while.
On the contrary, Pieter - you’re a good looking chap!
I knew Pieter was a sexy beast. He’s just too modest!
snuffster is right: Roderick?
stylin alex good to find out what you look like especialy so if I make it to germany I’ll know to offer you some snuff. p.s. wasn’t trying to dis dos equis just the ad implied it’s all pieter drinks beerwise. Heck there are some great local brews from S.A. I’ve tried a few a professor at penn state got some sent since he couldn’t find them here (a friend had his class)
Pieter wrote “I prefer hunting girls, no gun needed and much more fun” You must not be from the south.
pieter is actualy the most from the south of anyone here. In fact he is further south then florida.
Pieter wrote “I prefer hunting girls, no gun needed and much more fun” You must not be from the north.
Alex’s pictures remind me of those SNL skits called Sprockets with Mike Meyers: http://www.mike-myers.net/dieter7.jpg Cool.
I live at the most southerly point of Africa, where the Indian and Atlantic oceans meet. This is a 10th world country where you still find animals, like baboons, roaming amongst our houses, bicycles and animal driven vehicles on main raods, taxi drivers who can’t read and totally ignore all the rules of the road, murder and rape cases reported on the back pages of newspapers and TV programs repeated so often that you know the stories like your first grade books. A law was passed a while ago to make criminals out of honest citizens- all gun licenses were cancelled and if you did not apply for a new license, you are now a criminal. But people who did apply are still waiting for their new licenses after more than 2 years. So we had to hand in our guns to be destroyed. I did not apply for new licenses and did not hand in my guns. I’m waiting for the bastards to come and take it away from me. You might read something about me on the back page of one of our newspapers soon!!!
And I thought the US was bad.
Hang in there Pieter! I salute your valor and good sense to retain your right to defend yourself. If you ever need to flee you’ll always have a safe haven here at my house. I know South Africa is no paradise due to the chaotic state its in for now. I won’t pretend to understand the complex state of affairs going on but my imagination can fill in many details. Meanwhile, keep your powder dry and your head down.
It’s a sorry state of affairs when guns are needed to defend yourself from fellow human beings. Oh dear. That’s made me feel depressed. By the way Pieter, you find bicycles on main roads in the UK too, but not baboons.
It is sorry, but historically consistent. Even without guns there would be knives, spears, clubs, rocks, etc… Jack London’s ‘Sea Wolf’ and William Golding’s ‘Lord of the Flies’ sum it up nicely. Anyway, all we have here are deer, skunks, and armadillos splattered all over the roads. We also have our share of gun toting maniacs here and there, kept in check by the fact that the rest of us are toting guns and probably just as maniacal as well.
I once saw a video of a pack of baboons robbing someones groceries. IT was in a middle class neighbor hood too. They basicly mugged this family and stole all their grocery bags. I think ticks are the worst thing we have here (their pretty nasty animals in my opinion.)
Best of luck Pieter!
I thought you liked me, bob. [sniff]
Maybe Mucous Tick is more appropriate:
The tick is awesome. Ticks however not awesome.
But they’re nigh-invulnerable!
nah I think having enough snuff in your system will kill them just a theory though. They’ll drown in alchool. Though they can be tough but their heads can be ripped off which is one of the problems with removing them if you don’t know what you’re doing.
Ticks have been god-awful this year. I bet I’ve pulled close to 20 of them off me this year. Luckily none had clamped down, they were all just crawling around looking for a spot to eat my blood.
I tell you man. Ticks are a HUGE problem here in the south lately becuase our winters have been too warm to have a good kill off. The removal of the heads to prevent lymes disease isnt needed, You will contract lymes disease ( head intact or not ) after bitten regardless. ( according to the doctors ive seen ) However, the heads if left in can cause infection. Honestly, wtf is the point of ticks??? What purpose do they serve in life, honestly.
feeding certain birds would be my best guess as to the purpose of ticks.
Growing up in the backwoods of Arkansas, I’m sure I’ve removed several 100 ticks in my life. Just because you are feasted upon does not mean you will come down with something. If that were the case then there is no way, statistically speaking, that I wouldn’t have wound up with Lyme’s disease or rocky mountain spotted fever. But I plan to write a book about it one day. Here is the tentative title “Mosquitos, ticks, and chiggers: Evidence that god hates us all.”
I love watching ticks pop in a fire. POP! SIZZLE…
This thread is starting to make me itch! lol
I too have a bad tick infestation these last few weeks. It is the small deer tick that is the biggest culprit of disease. The vast majority of tick bites shouldn’t cause any diseases.
Thank God I live in a London suburb.
Ditto for a Hull suburb!
No more ticks! Get your mugs on here newbies!
I don’t have a recent pic of me right now, but here’s a shot of my little scoot.
Ahh, chiggers. Now that’s a whole different subject. I hate those dreaded mites and I always get them every year. The only solution I have come to regarding chiggers is to immediately remove any constricting clothing clothing and jump in the shower ASAP after being exposed. When I used to go backpacking I would carry a can of Off and liberally apply it to my shoes and ankles, then don said clothing at the end of the day and bathe myself in thick campfire smoke. I consume heroic amounts of garlic during the hot season which seems to help a bit as well. I wouldn’t panic over ticks since they are easily found after a good bathing and as I said before there are only certain species which spread Lyme Disease and Spotted Fever. If you ever find a Bull Ring type mark on your skin then its time to get an immediate checkup. But the vast majority of ticks are just a nuisance and can be treated with Seven Dust and vigorous sprayings of Off. Alcohol will also kill them on contact. I pull ticks off my dogs every week since I walk them about here in the tortortuos Texas brush country. You are statistically more likely to die in a plane crash than to contract a tick spread disease.
@Spyro When you get into chiggers, run a hot bath and throw in a few capfuls of regular Clorox bleach. I’m not sure how it works, but I know it does. That’s how mom used to treat us growing up in AR. Also works on them little no-see 'em seed ticks.
Cool motorbike Carol
Welcome, SKULLY. Golf is one damn addicting sport.
Welcome on board, Kelly! Glad to have you.
Hello Kelly, nice to meet you. Welcome to Snuffhouse.
Welcome!
Skully … welcome … Has anyone ever told you, you look a bit like Fred Ward?
Welcome Kelly, hope you enjoy the site, have you just discovered snuff or are you a seasoned user?
I’m the one on the right.
So your the one of the right. I never thought I’d say this but I’am suprised to find I really want to scratch your chin.
welcome and enjoy Bob, your right I want to tickle him too…
Here is me, and one of my cat(one of them). See Leman?
They do look almost identical. Perhaps my cat is part maine coon. Does yours have really long hair between his toes?
tom cute/beautifull little lion you’ve got there.
@ Skully, as I live in a 10th world country, I don’t know much about golf. Can it be the game where you strike a ball out of sight and then go and search for it and…when you find it, you once more flog it out of sight, search for it and…?? Welcome aboard Kelly and FFF, don’t go away, this is the best and biggest snuff forum ever!! WE LOVE SNUFF
Pieter, there are a few great South African golfers: Ernie Els, Tim Clark, and… Gary Player, the king himself.
Just changed my avatar and account picture to make the whole thing a bit more personal.
Nice to see you.
@SKULLY: I tried to learn, but eventually time restraints ended my tenure. I still have my clubs. I HATE Rory Sabatini… that’s why he was left off of the list. He’s a grade A jerk.
Tom, I thought someone posted a pic of one of my cats. Your orange fur ball looks identical to one of my cats named Maverick. Leaves big fur balls wherever he goes. And mine has long hair between his toes and extends out past his pads.
trout- I think you, me and Leman all have the same cat. I have been told it’s a Maine Coone cat.
Does yours leave fur balls everywhere? Heres an older photo of mine when he was a few months old.
Oh yes, and he rubs all over my pants legs and they are covered with fur.
Hey Tom, That motorhead shirt? I wore that to my wedding. Good taste.
Love Motorhead. Got that shirt years ago when I saw them play. It’s really ragged now. I designed my band’s logo, and we are gonna be making t-shirts of that. I have a sample on an old shirt, but when I get a proper done shirt, I’ll post a pic.
Great band. Saw the original lineup with Eddie Clarke and a couple of times recently, that voice is held together with Marlboro and Jack Daniels.
Lemmy and the boyz were killer the 4 or 5 times I saw them in the 80s. You could always be assured of plenty of nubile chicks taking their clothes off and just wanting to be hit on.
I remember once at the Palladium in Worcester, MA I was photographing the show with a buddy, and Corrosion Of Conformity was opening for Motorhead. I was standing center stage in the pit and I took my eye away from my camera because I noticed someone was standing next to me. It was Lemmy, flashing me a shit-eating grin. We bumped knuckles and I kept on shooting. Great show, one of my favorites in recent memory.
“who would win in a fight between Lemmy and God?” “Well, I would say Lemmy” Wrong answer a**hole…“Lemmy is god” Airheads 1990’s movie
you guys gonna post your mugs or keep on about Lemmy? LOL
Well said Xander, here’s my cat Scampi and he does go into my snuff cupboard and sniff!
cute cat but does he also smoke a pipe???
Lol! no, that must be the only vice that he hasn’t got.
Scampi is quite a handsome guy.
Finally got a pic on photo bucket…lol
Snuffgnugen, I ain’t fartin on no snare drum. I agree, I side-tracked this enough. I’ll post a photo within the next day or so. I’m a professional photographer. You’d think I’d have a self-portrait handy. HOSS: I woke up at a Phish festival with that hat covering my face. No idea where it came from, but I can only imagine some stoned person found me passed out on the grass, decided either to end it for me or that I would benefit from less sun on my face and covered me up. Anyway, that started my love affair with boonie hats.
@ SKULLY, lol! I was feeding him a cat treat while sat out in the garden, a quick shot with the camera in the other hand and it’s a little off focus. Then I did the little art work.
Just shaved the head
Laphroaig is on the top of my list. If you haven’t tried it…heaven awaits.
I know there is a whole other thread on drinking, but Chrysaphias’ picture tempted me into pouring a nice snifter of Knob Creek. I generally prefer scotch over bourbon, but this is a fine drink.
Bookers. 'Nuff said when it comes to Cadillac of bourbons.
Bourbon runs through my veins. Makers Mark being my choice but Eagle Rare was in the glass tonight.
Finally putting some pics up. My girlfriend, Melissa and I
Drinking makes my beard unruly.
And another of my beautiful girlfriend. and here’s a few of my pet brown recluse.
Eeek!
Any girl that keeps poisonous arachnids as pets can’t be all bad.
Damned straight!!
If I’m gonna keep anything venomous around, it’s gonna be a Western Hognose. Blunt, do you have any other arachnids or reptiles?
I keep a tarnatula on my kitchen work top. She’s called ‘Molly’ and I think she is very cute.
I frequently get Alligator Lizards popping in from the outdoors. It’s fun to attempt picking them up. Once caught, they’re somewhat friendly.
Down here we have Green and Brown Anoles. They are quite annoying, but very friendly. Oddly, the pet stores around here sell them for about $8.
I had a pair of Anoles as a kid. They’re like chameleons, so they go from green to brown depending on their background. In fact some people mistakenly call them chameleons. They were cool pets to have.
Well come on, post some more pictures. The tread is after all “Faces Of Snuffhouse Members”
In Wilmington, NC this past March. Heading back in 2 days.
and I guess I can bring up this old thread with a pic of me and heres one of my girl and little girl. It was her first time in a lake
and why not, one of my tat
@ NJE03: incredible van!
I figured why not add some photos? A couple of me and the lady. The first one is from New Years and the second one is from a wedding we attended about a year and a half ago.
And a few of the namesake. My 2002 Lincoln LSE V8.
@ LincolnSnuff I don’t know if it’s the haircut or what. but the second picture you both look a lot younger too me. I think it’s the hair cut.
I thought he was your son. Nice wife too.
@ NJEO3 Beautiful pipe! (As I sit here with a cob in my hand).
I want that van! I used to have a 66 Chevy van as well. Mine was one of the windowless ones. Straight 6 engine. Reliable as hell.
NJE03 Very nice picture of you en-route in the van…I like that!( 250 ci straight 6?) @ Lincoln I’d find out real QUICK who that younger, flat-top fellow is there squeezing your wife if I were you…
@Zanaspus Thanks! I do not risk taking my meerschaum outside as it is so fragile. When I am out hiking or something of this nature, my cob is right there with me. @Carol They are indeed very reliable vehicles. I can start mine even in these cold Midwest winters with ease. @Bart Thanks Bart, it’s a straight 6. Since some of you have expressed an interest in my van, I have a few more pictures here:
I’m fairly young, only 19 here :
@NJE03: Looooove the interior. Damn I’d love to have that for a road trip!
I’m on the far left, par-taking in that fine art perfected by the Army: waiting. Me and my little girl, Elizabeth.
Nice photos, all!
@ Snuffin: that’s a beautiful picture of you and your daughter - whereabouts was it taken?
@ Toffeenose. I used to live in Nazing in Essex. It’s taken in a field by the house i used to live in around about last July. It’s my favourite picture of me and her.
It looks lovely - too lovely to be Essex, lol! Only kidding.
Here I am asleep on a family trip through the Smokey Mountains towards Charleston, South Carolina. My sister took this pic when I was fast asleep while listening to music.
@watadork: What is all that stuff all over you?
Quote “@watadork: What is all that stuff all over you?” LOL! snuff!
Yeah but it looks like he’s been eating it!
Ya, and he has a long line of it on his arm.
Maybe he took a snuff bath?
Reminds me of ‘Deliverance’ for some reason.
@ Spyro Agreed! He sure does have a pretty mouth. lol.
@Toffeenose… Lol it’s alright. I know what the rest of Essex is like! Yeah it is a lovely place, a nice little villiage in the country called Bumbles Green in Nazing. Only about 20-30 houses. Great place to go for a walk and the views are fantastic. If you go right up to the top of the rolling hills around the area you can just about see into London.
lol guys, I photoshopped it and added some effects for a computer arts class. Although on that trip there was a plenty of snuffin going on!
Great photos, come on guys if you’ve not posted get a pic in here.
If you don’t we’ll assume you look really funny.
Or don’t exist outside of cyber space.
I need to get a new pic up. Once my mustache reaches full maturity I’ll get one up.
lol!!!
Here are pictures of me, my Linn/Proac stereo before I upgraded to the Klimax Kontrol preamplifier, and my car. Back in the old days, that was all a young man needed.
And a more recent pic of me!
One more from my study.
And my new door mat. I LOVE it :o)
viking it’s a rare man that can rock the baseball cap and the beret. Rare indeed. Personaly I can’t rock the baseball cap.
lol, I love the doormat
it is amazing.
I love the door mat!!!
Bob> he he the cap is from WallMart in Honesdale NE PA :o) I love it - I sometimes sleep wearing it :o) HA and the door mat I had to do some explaining when people came around after I got it :o)))
here’s a couple of me on a lovely wet and gray day hanging out in an old ruined church. i got the loveliest lady to have a snuff that day. now’s she’s hooked on princes gold.
saucey where were this pictures taken. I like the church. I love ruins for so many reasons.
@ bob: the picture was taken in Old D’hanis, Texas. I explore ghost towns all through the Texas Hill country which is a remarkably beautiful area. the church I believe was destroyed by fire in 1963 and the inside is a wilderness but the walls are propped up by giant metal bars as there has been talk of restoration.
Man, I wouldn’t think Texas when I see those pictures!
I love ghost towns. We have a whole mess of very very small ones in the woods here. Tiny places. One of my favorites is when the foundation and the fire place are left which is often the case. Either way awesome shots.
@ Bart: Yes, the Texas Hill Country is quite beautiful and you wouldn’t think it was Texas. It’s quite surreal especially in the deserted parts. @bob: Yeah they are so neat. I could go on about all the things I’ve found in the old ghost towns.
@saucy_jack: Are you from Texas?
@ NOmad: yessir I am. and you?
@saucy_jack: San Antonio - New Braunfels area
@ Nomad: Hey! I’m in the Boerne-San Antonio area!
@saucy_jack: Cool!
@Bart "Man, I wouldn’t think Texas when I see those pictures! " No, Correct! I was thinking Scotland
@ bart & Ukiceman: The texas hill country was heavily populated in the early years by German immigrints intent on building a sort of perfect society ala communes. The church I took pictures of above, why, the graveyard was composed of none but German names and engraved in german, save for one, that indicated the german person had been killed by commanche indians and was, at the time, some sort of sheriff or deputy.
love old graveyards. The little bit found at graveyards can be an awesome history lesson sometimes.
You ever notice how graveyards are otherwise (if it weren’t a graveyard) on the best real estate?
I love old churches. There is one near me that is 1500 years old, going back to when the Saxons were converted to Christianity in Essex. Graveyards are great places too, the one nearest to where I live is 600 years old and that has some fascinating graves, from medieval nobles to fighter pilots killed in action. The most interesting is Highgate in North London. Wander through that and you suddenly come across things like Karl Marx’s grave. I also would have said that Jacks pics were taken in Scotland - it looks cold and misty. Having never been to Texas I just associate it as being permanently hot and sunny.
Veering wildly off-topic of course, but the pictures of that Texas church and the fact that they are actually thinking of restoring it got me musing on the big differences between the old world and the new when it comes to ruined buildings. There were two castles I used to play in as a kid, both next to the village I lived in. The first was initially built in the 1200s and slowly enlarged over the next 400 years … It was finally abandoned around 1790 when a replacement castle was built nearby …
Neither of these castles is ever visited by tourists. There’s no signposts to them from the road, no “historical markers” or anything like that. Despite the fact that the later castle was designed by a famous architect called Robert Adam (according to Wiki, he influenced the Federal Style in the States), it had its roof removed in 1968 by the then owner so that he could avoid paying property taxes. Both of them just sit there, unloved and slowly rotting away. Can you imagine the fuss that would be made if someone decided to rip the roof from one of those Federal Style buildings in the U.S. ?!
@BradMajors: That’s a hard one to answer, actually. Detroit has the largest collection of pre-Depression buildings still standing, many of them constructed by famous architects, that are rotting away. The usual MO in Detroit is to own property as a tax write-off and let it slowly crumble, until somebody comes and makes a good offer or (more likely) it becomes so dangerous that the city orders it to be razed. The Michigan Central Railroad station (beloved by urban explorers and photographers alike) has had countless ideas floated to bring it back, yet it still sits a gutted shell, the old United Artists Theatre is now so water-damaged and vandalized it’s hopeless, and although the David Broderick Building is in fairly solid condition and still somewhat secured, people can’t seem to think of anything to do but paint murals on it. I could go on for 3 or 4 paragraphs listing the beautiful and irreplaceable buildings that are slowly giving way to the elements and the inertia of a bankrupt city and corrupt city government. There are bright spots, but a new Starbuck’s and a few hip restaurants are not renewal…
I was going to say we have this old train station from the 1930’s that has been left to rot and be a home for crack heads, but now I see it has been demolished. Pics in the article: http://brokensidewalk.com/2009/10/26/baxter-train-station/
Time for some new pics from the new guys.
Here’s one of me from almost a year ago, along with my then newborn daughter.
Nice schot, your first?
Yep, she turns 1 on the 8th, and was what got me to stop smoking.
me as the world’s tallest leprechaun, and me with my banjo.
Was that a failed suicide attempt with the banjo?
I think it was more of an attempted metaphor.
like the lucky charms nice touch. A phoneix metaphor perchance. Or a testament to your awesome banjo skills??? No need to answer of course.
He had his feet tied so no one would think he was cheating by using his toes.
Phager, she’s beautiful and I’m sure she will never know her Daddy as a smoker.
Google “uncle sinner” and judge my banjo skills for yourself. The gospel tunes are tongue-in-cheek. Them’s unfiltered Pall Malls in the firepit–good thing I don’t have regular access to those in Manitoba.
@ brad majors: Sorry I didn’t see your post sooner regarding the castles. I find castles fascinating, though oddly, only UK castles and some in France all else seem not so romantic. As for taking the roof off the castle, that’s a shame, but when you consider how in America we readily bulldoze historic places to build McDonald’s and KFC’s, raising the roof off of a castle seems like nothing. That old church has been burned out since 1963. Who know’s if it will ever be restored. It IS way out in the sticks.
One thing people don’t realize about america is how much wilderness where not many people go there is here. Apperantly as europe becomes more urban a lot more of it is becoming wilderness and further out all the time. Just saying glad there are still lots of out of the way places to explore and make sure you don’t get too lost in.
I was going to post a picture of myself just to join the “club” of all you other guys who have, but since I don’t have a good picture available on my computer, I’ve decided against it. Plus, I like to leave an air of mystery somewhat. Then again if you Google me there is probably a picture of me somewhere out there.
Er… I think there is a picture on your profile.
Aye, Red-eye it is, Hahaha!
Lol, no that isn’t me guys, that’s just a picture of some dude I found on Google, who I thought would look great as a pick on my profile. I believe if I looked that homely and deranged (no offense to that guy if he is reading this) I would refrain from putting it up.
Haha!!! LOL!!!
He doesn’t really look like either of those guys to me, just like someone who has done a lot of snuff (some of which may have gotten in his eyes, as they are blood-red) and was bombarded unsuspectingly with the flash of a camera.
it looks like he probably took the pic himself in my opnion.
You actually could be right bob.
@midnightmosesuk Sfingles icon looks a little bit like Erwin Rommel, in fact it is Sergei Prokofiev. I’m pretty sure the photograph in his profile is what we’re talking about. On that photograph there’s a weird guy in front of the Augustiner-Festhalle at the Oktoberfest.
You’re right on with those observations, sir.
Whose the serial killer? Sfingle? How many dya do buddy? Neat…
I think you sound a little confused snuffster! Lol.
of course, silly early morning humour. lol
I like how you look really goofy in the ice cream photo but they people in the background look all shadowy and sinsiter. Makes it kind of funnier to me in a strange way.
@ rdunnion Have you lived in PA ever or do you just have a dopelganger???
@snuffin Being taught the finer points of dragging stricken land rovers out of the mud. This is shortly before a tour in Bosnia. If you recall the TV series “Peacekeepers”, the Signals Squadron there was the one that relieved us in 2002.
On the right, 2009, drinking some beer ( a rare occurrance these days).
is there something on my face?
Me smoking a bowl of rustica
lol. I think maybe I drank too much, or something. My vision is getting blurry.
thats how things look the whole time to me
you sure that is rustica???
Hi all, This is me, the baldy one, hehehe!!!
Bish, I’ve only just looked at this topic, so sorry for the long delay in getting back to you… I can’t say that I remember the series myself, probably too young lol. Yeah, landies in the mud is a horrible thing to deal with, however, have served with the Queens Own Yeomanry (TA), we cut about Scimatars so they don’t tend to get stuck in the mud, then when I was in the regular Army, I was with the Coldstream Guards, so we tended to lay in the mud lol. Albeit I wasn’t with them for long, that is the regiment I plan on going back into after finishing my studies as an officer.
OK, I guess it’s my turn. This was taken a couple of years ago at the Blue Smoke restaurant in midtown Manhattan (yes, you can get authentic barbecue in New York!):
This was from this weekend’s trek into the Cascade Mountains.
Well here is video from Friday of my big ugly mug playing bass in the background. The guest singer is Jean Morrison of Morrison Poe. The Lawn Darts @ Amra’s with Jean Morrison Ken
Nice bass.
It is actually just a SX made Fender copy purchased from Rondo Music. I have three of those bases, 4 string PJ Custom copy, that 5 string that is a Precision body with Jazz pickups and a 5 string fretless jazz. I do my own setup and custom work on them to my own liking. Believe it or not I play and gig way more with those than I do my Cort Curbow 4 which has a Bartolini active pickup system in it. So in reality it is a budget bass. My amp system on the other hand… Anyway thank you. Ken
I only saw that gorgeous lady, Jean Morrison.
Thank you. I should try to get a good video from the original band at some point. We have a show next week. Machete Ring Ken
You say it’s a cheap bass you’ve worked on well that often makes for a nice bass. As long as the body and neck aren’t crap you can easily make it a really nice bass. As far as needing a really nice bass I hate to admit the hofner viola bass later dubbed the beatle bass tend to play and sound like crap and was the bass paul started with not because it was good but because it was a budget bass that was super easy to play lefty on. My bass the only one I ever owned is actualy a cheap fender and it works fine for everything. Basses like something else it doesn’t matter how nice it is as much as how you play it. I have to admit the music you were playing isn’t really my thing but I liked the bass lines not stepping on anyones toes but still very present and audible. Which tends to be more pleasing to us bass players.
Oh most certainly. The reason I like the SX’s is they are pretty much the same wood that fender uses. What makes them cheaper is three fold: 1. being an import 2. lower QA tolerences 3. hardware and electronics quality Truth though, other than changing bad jack that went a little shakey after a couple of poolside gigs, the electronics are stock. The bridges are stock but I custom drilled them for the guages I use. The biggest flaw I found in any of them is fret leveling which a careful bit of file work can fix right up. Musical instruments are a definite case of being the right instrument for the right player as far as setup not name brand. Muddy Waters didn’t go buy a brand new Gibson or Taylor in a Sam Ashe when he started. And then of course go back to one of the most famous basses ever, the bass of doom that Jaco Pastorious played and built. Anyway my statement was that is was not a high end fender, it was a high end KEN!!! Ken
ah I can dig that. You gotta dig jaco and the bass of doom.
Amen, you heard about Robert Trujillo (or however you spell his name) buying it in trust of the Pastorius family? Ken
Hey devilock Machete Ring sounds good! You guys must have been influenced by Tool, right?
Tool, Porcupine Tree and Karnivool I would say would be our big three. Thanks, those recordings are so old and we are getting ready to hit the studio soon, I hope we can melt your face with the next batch. Ken
I still can’t post pictures but I would like you to see one fat snuffer. So, if you care to, do the following: Go to www2.actionphoto.net Click View and Order Images Click South Africa Select Mountain Bike Select Event: Die Burger Uitdaging 2010 Submit Enter race no 4067 Submit Enlarge photo and you will have two photos of a very tired me.
If you don’t mind Pieter…
Thank you Mark! It might look as if I’m about to start crying…truth is I wasn’t far from it.
@ Pieter… Next I want to see a picture of your “old” car, before you get the new one. When I started the “what do you drive” thread I was hoping to pics of cars that are not common, depending on where you live. Your vehicle sounded interesting, but no pic.
The only snuffer I see is a well built one! Nice to finally put a face to the name, Pieter… after all this time!
I see a mildly chubby guy who looks to be in good shape. I don’t even think I’d make it that far.
Me and my beautiful wife Christina:
@Pieter In that pic you resemble a favourite musician of mine.
@Robert, at present my hair almost look like your musician’s! During winter I don’t go for haircuts which annoys my wife to death. I take your remark as a compliment.
@Pieter "I take your remark as a compliment. " As intended. Very striking resemblance to Jerry Garcia. If you occasionally see middle aged folks wearing tie-dye T shirts doing a “double take” when they see you, you now know why.
Is there some mistake? Thats the picture on my passport?
Here’s a picture of me. One of the few girl snuffers out there, I suppose!
There’s a few around, but certainly not enough!
Wow!
I don’t know what AllanH is suprised by frankly. For fun I’am going to go with he is amazed by the minature metal doors on the wall. I did tell him that is where the gnomes live.
Cool phone…
Thanks!
NICE!! even better [for the guys here] theres no ring on that finger.
Me and our beautiful daughter!
@ bob: AllanH knows very well that metal door is for the wee folk. I would like to know how that camera took a picture of itself.
advanced turkish technology. (refrence to the turkish film industries hatred of logic.)
I’m working on a theory that snuff makes one not only sophisticated, but also very good-looking, this thread being my evidence.
@Parrots, thanks! …and yep, very single. And looking. Especially for a gentleman who understands the fantastically enjoyable vices that are snuff, port, and book collecting. And occasionally Xbox.
How do you not have a queue of suitors at your door with a list of interests like that! some chap is going to be lucky!
You look very mellow.
So am I
Micheltn, Where you able to board the ships and look about?
Holy crap Micheltn you look very familiar…like maybe an actor. I don’t know. Thats a great photo but as good looking as you are, I think I’d rather have Lionheart as a mate. lol. No offense, I just don’t roll that way. Just sayin…
Lionheart I think you and me was meant for each other
@ PP- Jude law.
By popular request, here’s a few more photos of mine.
Jude Law and Drew Barrymore. I see it! Or James Franco and Anna Farris.
Holy shyte, that’s Ralph Nader!
@Xander, Yep. I had dinner with him when he spoke near my hometown. Me and a few others. He’s a pretty rad guy, very smart and has an incredible dry sense of humor.
He didn’t show up in a Chevrolet Corvair, did he?.
I hope you didn’t tell Ralph you snuffed…he might just write a book and call it Unsafe in Any Nostril. Hee hee hee…naw but Ralph’s alright…
HOLY SHIT! That last picture is a WIN!
@ Bart…thats funny as hell. I wonder how many snuffhse members actually know what you are referring to with Nader and the Corvair? That is so old I completely forgot about that issue…lol. Guess that makes me too old also.
We remember Stevenson for president and BOAC Soylent class flying boats.
@lionheart it looks like you’re sneaking up on Ralph Nadar. Like you are about to say boo.
Livein Up me hardies If you not a Pirate Ye Best stand Clear Or you’ll taste the steel of me blade !!! Snuff Hunter The Pirate

arrr mate
Here’s one of me, one of me and the kids, and one of me and wifeypantz.
Lovely family mate. the first photo reminds me of Cartman in a very early south park episode.
Thanks PP. Cartman? Ok that’s a little odd, but ok. The first one is pretty recent. It was a couple of days after I put that dome together all by myself. Just showing off my workmanship.
That was in reference to the Cartman alien anal probe episode. That thing you have on your butt looks pretty alien to me.
ROFL!!!
Took for a while to get PP’s joke but it was worth it! I think Cartman got that probe in the first South Park episode ever.
Just a couple of pictures of me, !st at The Battle of Buncker Hill Paintball senario Game 2008, 2nd one was taken sept of 2010

I don’t see any real difference between young and old Iggy.
