F&T tin from Mr. Snuff

I’m sure the answer is somewhere in here, but I couldn’t find it.  I wanted to check with you guys before I snuff this new F&T Princes Special.  The lid was grinding a lot when I unscrewed it.  There was corrosive looking yellow stuff on the outside of the tin and big white specks in the snuff.  Is this normal?  The only other F&T I have is HDT, and nothing like that was going on with it.  This snuff seems contaminated to me.  I know many of you have had this snuff, so what do you think?

I have had a rusty tin of F&T before, not from Mr Snuff though. Snuff was fine. Any issues please contact Mr Snuff directly and the CS people. @MrSnuff @MrSnuffCS

It’s normal, in that Princes, and some other high-salt, moist, snuffs corrode the tin if they are in them for any length of time.

Pick out the bad and discard . then decant into glass jar. the aluminum decays like mouse pointed out.Or contact CS like Skell18 suggested. not saying the next tin will be in better shape but it may be. Sometimes there are salt crystals by your description sound like corrosion .If you feel it not safe, don’t save it. Or use it to kill bugs.

it’s just corrosion and it really isn’t that harmful I wouldn’t recommend snuffing it all the time. Most likely the tin got scratched somehow and let the corrosion start (hence why age isn’t the culprit)

Sounds good folks, i’ll clean up the snuff and put it in a glass jar.  Thanks!

or you could always send us the remainders for testing.

if we live it’s safe

If I wasn’t collecting as a hobby I would, because I don’t think i’ll ever like this snuff.
