F&T Seville

Can an enthusiast describe this to me? I’ve heard it variously described as potpourri sachet and as a delicious dry snuff. Which is it? If I cough clouds out of my mouth with HDT toast, will this kill me or no? I apologize if this is in the wrong area.

Your post prompted me to go have a sniff of Seville, which for a while at one time was my all day snuff. I find it slightly silkier than HDT and have never had problems with it going too far up (which I occasionally have with the HDT). But it’s not far off HDT grind and colour. As for the scent, I haven’t looked up what the exact ingredients are, but I find it’s like the ESSENCE of orange (including the skin); maybe this is my imagination, but if it is, I don’t really care! I think there is a moment when it could flip over into a vague perfumy sensation, but I would say “keep your mind on oranges and follow it”. The scent takes me deep into complex orange world. I don’t know why, but the nicotine content of this snuff always hits me harder than most; harder than HDT too! Not heard anyone else say this, so it could be just me!

Well, that does it, @Omgroma‌, I’m buying it. I love the concept of a whole orange snuff–while I love Oranjesnuif, the orange flavor of that one reminds me more of the scent of a really honey-sweet clementine or satsuma. I want to smell the zest more than the juice.

It is a medium fine grind, it is not “moist” but moister than F&T HDT, the flavor is supposed to be Neroli Orange but be that the fruit, the zest or the blossom I can’t say. To me it smells very, very strong and fairly “flowery” even after dilution (have a dedicated snuffbox is what I’m saying). Seems to be a love/hate snuff and I’m not in the love camp but don’t let my lack of enthusiasm ruin it for you, it could become your favorite (or your nemesis) but you can’t know until you try.

My nemesis is Columbia Oil, @Ivan‌. It got me hooked and then slapped me around and left me for dead with a plugged nose and a bad attitude. I’m trying this stuff now.

All I see in it is Morlaix with a slightly citrus aroma, or in other words a big disappointment.

@R25‌ wow!? Really? Seville is one of my favorites of the F&T line…

I find Seville slightly more moist then the HDT and it has a very silky texture and is easy on the nose. I can easily take big pinches. I only use this snuff once in a great while cause for me it has a very strong floral/baby powder smell to it.

Baby powder, my least favorite of the F&T line.

Clearly a love it or hate it reaction.only one “meh”.

I think Seville is underrated. It’s a really relaxing, soft scent, I haven’t had it in some time but I went through the tin quicker than I have any other of the perfumed F&T snuffs besides Bureau.

I see it as an excellent summer snuff. Smells of orange blossom rather than orange.

Well guys , thanks for the flashback. Studied in Spain in the 60’s and your discussion took me back to a visit to Seville and remembering their orange trees! Nice remembrance.

Another one in the perfumey baby powder camp, I’m afraid. It might work if you mixed it with a good, strong plain tobacco snuff, and go light on the Seville. But some people love it straight, so there you go.
