F&T/WOS v. Toque

Hi there. I’ve noticed that F&T/WOS simply agrees with me better than Toque, which I like, but whenever I switch to Toque after using WOS, I feel marginally unpleasant. My throat gets a bit irritated and my nose just feels “off”. Just seems like WOS activates more neurotransmitters(sounds weird i know).Does anyone else feel like that? I’m not totally convinced its grind or flavourings…maybe the base tobacco or an additive or something with the manufacturing? For example, the HDT is just, for me,easier to take, tastes better, and hits harder than Toque toasts. Old Paris v.say a Berwick Brown is just more enjoyable in every way. Again, I like Toque, but something in them irritates me.Maybe I have a slight allergy to something in them? I’d really like to know and what others should I avoid or gravitate toward? American scotchs even agree with me better. Thanks everyone!

Im thinking there is a psychological force at work here too. What brands do this for you?

I’m not sure what it could be. My initial reaction going into this post was to say not to write anything off yet, because tastes change over time. For about a year my snuff consumption was probably 90% Samuel Gawith, De Kralingse, and Old Mill, but now I’m getting really into Toque all of a sudden. I even did a whole thing on my channel during a Toque Blueberry review asking people to recommend Toque snuffs I should try (after having totally dismissed Toque up until that point), and placed an order based on that, which I am enjoying as I write this. If, however, it’s a physical irritation thing, I have no idea what it could be. Could be that the grind/moisture combination doesn’t agree with you (which may also change over time). I would recommend trying Toque Natural (not Original), which is just their base tobacco without any flavorings added to it. It’s a really good natural. If that still bothers you, it’s probably something in the bill. If not, it’s probably something in the flavoring used. @Roderick says he uses all natural flavorings, but we can be allergic or intolerant of natural things, too. At least that way you’d know, right?

@hitsuzen…im going to give Natural a try next order. Its just been a gradual change over time thats become noticeable enough to make me wonder if some physiological change was taking place or a natural refinement of my own preference because i used Toque more often than any other up until a few months ago.could also be small biological changes in the tobacco plant used in the base.idk.and probably now ive got it in my head that theres an issue, its not helping matters at all.Maybe just my body telling me im just more compatible with WOS.was curious if others had a physiological change that influenced brands.

I seem to be having a bit of a reawakening with WoS lately, but certainly nothing detrimental from Toque. The only thing detrimental I can think of from Toque is the idea of not being able to get any Berwick Brown :stuck_out_tongue: Thankfully, I have a lot in bulk Are these new snuffs that you’re having issues with, or have they lost a bit of moisture? As the world of snuffs is so diverse, with such a fantastic array on offer, I wouldn’t get too concerned. As @Hitsuzen suggests, I’d try a new tin of Toque Natural and see how that works for you, though maybe lay off the Toques for a week first so you’re not feeding any underlying issues. It could be as simple as your nose adapting to a new season, or background stuff in the air such as pollens, and the WoS reacting with them in a different way.
